This little slice of heaven is absolutely breathtaking. It backs up on to the lake. Very clean and well taken care of. Sunset was beautiful. Outdoor shower works very well. Saw fish, osprey and plenty of gators.

Super private and peaceful 4 nights here. Nothing fancy but the canoe and kayak were a nice touch. We enjoyed going out on the lake! His handyman showed up for a few nights and worked on the property so obviously he’s continuing to improve the site. Needed an extra night at the last minute and he accommodated us with no problem. Took a quick drive to Daytona Beach and enjoyed the boardwalk. Would stay again!

We’ve camped here before and loved it both times! Hosts are great and there is a lot to see on site. Plenty of privacy and bathrooms are always clean. Can’t wait to come back. This will always be a first choice for us when camping.

3 nights at Tiny House + Marina near springs!

Very nice tiny home on the water, loved the sunset and abundant wildlife, gators, turtles, cranes, even saw a momma otter and her two babies. Boat ramp is decent, should be deep enough for boats up to 20ft but it was very shallow in most parts. Just stick to the marked areas. Will definitely be back, great place to unwind and far from the more crowded areas.

This is our second stay at lakeside. You will be hard pressed to find a better, private, full hook up property that is right on the lake. Four days of rest , relaxation and cool breezes coming from the expansive lake.

1 night at North Shore Relic Ranch

The site was beautiful and very well kept with chairs, fire pit, and lights. The host was very kind and very flexible with us as we arrived late at night and he still met us to guide us to our site. The relics are pretty neat to go see as well as the cows. One thing to note is the mosquitoes are absolutely ruthless out there because it’s in swampy area, so bring loads of strong bug spray.

Weekend Trip to Private Escape on the Lake

Small and quite campground, great for stargazing at night. The host was helpful and very nice to chat with. There are no showers but they to provide water hookups for those quick rinse offs. Lovely view of the lake in front of the property.

7 nights at Lakeside RV site

We loved camping on Laura’s land. So peaceful and relaxing. She showed us where to back in and hookup. After that, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was amazing! Beautiful view of the lake. We were able to view 2 rocket launches on the site - amazing views! There was a deer family that visited us every day. We hope to go back very soon!

4 nights at Runaway Bay Lodge

Very chilled and easy experience staying at Runaway Bay Lodge. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Bed very large and comfortable. Nice shower. Lovely watching the sunset over the lake with a nice wood fire going.

What a piece of 'old Florida' paradise! The cabin was absolutely perfect for a quiet, unplugged weekend. Highly recommended!!! The cabin has everything you need to make modest meals and the beds are comfy. We especially enjoyed the sweet cat, fireflies at night, reading on the dock, and watching the ducks bathe. We are definitely going to be back! Side note - the dock was pretty shallow when we were there (water is low in general right now), so I would check with Christina about your boat draft before booking with your own boat.

Pine Street Basin Preserve is nestled on the edge of the dense Volusian Forest in Pierson, FL. The Basin is a marshy wetland that supports a healthy population of amphibians, reptiles, insects, and birds! So many birds!! Every morning, the sunrise hosts a bird chorus of epic proportions. You will find endless photo opportunities and a night sky that is free from light pollution, great for stargazing and moon bathing. You can enjoy the beautiful spring fed lake to fish, boat around, and swim! (If you don't mind swimming with gators and snakes. Remember, we are in Florida.) There are no facilities here yet, just a few great spots to pitch a tent. No restrooms, no electricity. Just nature and privacy. So, bring all your provisions. Fly into the Pierson Municipal Grass Runway Airport and we will pick you up, no charge! We are dog friendly, but (sorry) they must remain on leash. And please exercise caution! You will be camping on the edge of a very populated forest, with a lot of predatory and pray animals. Extra caution should be taken to ensure the safety of your pets and the safety of the wildlife living here on the preserve. We host a large population of nesting birds and delicate amphibians. Their safety is of great importance to us. We absolutely love dogs, so their safety is important too. They are welcome, just be responsible!! All proceeds from the campers will support conservation efforts here in the preserve...facilities will be added asap.
