1 night at Water front on Topaz Lake

We booked upon arrival and tent camped for one night. We l thoroughly enjoyed our time. The bathrooms and showers were extremely clean as well as the entire site. We bought ice for $3 which was convenient. the site came with a fire pit a picnic table and hookups for water and RV electric hookup. We used the kayaks next day to enjoy the water before checking out. 10/10 experience

2 nights at Pequena Huts

Cozy camping hut with a loft sleeping area that was very comfortable, outdoor shower attached and a composting toilet in a separate outhouse just a couple steps away. There are both a large and a small gas grill available but we loved the fire pit with the optional cooking grate. Lake Spaulding is very near and Emerald Pools are just a few minutes' drive away. Plus there is nice dark-sky star viewing at night. We had a great time!

The camp host and camping spot are both nice. I would simplify the directions. I was confused by the directions. You should know it is windy - I’m from point arena. We have strong coastal wind. We are used to wind. - It can be WINDY at the farm. It was a good spot for dogs.

The lake was beautiful and our spot was nice and level for our van. It was crazy windy, so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the fun amenities, but the shower was super clean and nice with lots of special touches. We would definitely come back!

Beautiful and peaceful. We stayed here on a one night getaway. It was restful and so quiet, just the birds and the wind. Went for a short bike ride (lots of climbing into Toiyabe Forest on dirt roads, then lots of dirt bikers and noise up there). Green and comfortable temperatures in mid-May. Wendy is a wonderful host, kind and helpful. We ordered the rotisserie roasted chicken which she delivered, right at dinner time. It was delicious and a wonderfully welcome hot meal we did not have to cook!! Recommend for the tranquility and beautiful views!!

Lovely spot with easy same day booking. The land was beautiful and the campsite had a bucket toilet, firepit with wood, table and benches as well as ample spots for parking. I think this spot might be a bit rough at certain times of year for a low car or one without 4-wheel drive. Make sure to check the specific instructions versus just the address, which comes in a follow-up email (which I failed to do!) or you will end up in a random spot. Also this is a pack in and pack out, so bring bags to collect the contents of the bucket toilet (last people did not pack out their waste, which was sorta gross).

2 nights at Luxury Trailer on Off-grid Emu Farm

What a great little escape - you can be as ‘off the grid’ as you like. Tucked away on a farm a few miles from Pyramid Lake, this was the perfect place for us to stay and the fish the lake during the day. Would definitely recommend. Trailer is nice - would be tough with more than a couple of people though. Unless they’re small people lol 😆 but it was perfect for just me and the hubby. Hosts were super responsive and even showed me around the farm.

This place is absolutely amazing! Very clean, beautiful views, sites right on the water. We booked over Easter weekend and were the only ones there. It was heaven! Perfect weather and they provided fire wood, complimentary.

We had a sweet and easy Saturday night in April as the only people here. We had a wonderful waterfront spot and enjoy skipping rocks and watching the pink sunset on the snowy mountains. Friendly host. All sites radically level. Very clean bathroom. Clear lake used mainly as a fishing spot.

You can’t beat the views here. One of our favorites spots to date! We were fortunate enough to be able to meet Pam and she was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Hope to visit again!

This was one of the most beautiful spots we have ever camped in. It was so serene. Beautiful beyond words. It was cold during the time we camped but thankfully the bathrooms were nice and warm, clean as well. You get a front row seat overlooking the lake. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Would love to come back.

Cute little cabin nestled in Tahoe National forest . This little gem is on an acre of land surrounded by national forest land. Close enough to Lake Tahoe to get to but also away from the Tahoe chaos. Host lives on property , but will most likely be out and about most of the day. There are two neighbors but both own 20 acres so you can not see them, feels very private. The front of the property where the cabin is located there will be some highway noise being close to highway 20 , especially during a busy weekend. you can’t hear highway noise while in the cabin and towards the back of the land. However it is nice to be so close to highway 20 because it leads to several different destinations. ( west : Nevada city. east: towards Tahoe, and both directions there are soo many lakes/ rivers ) Tiny house: •Full sized futon downstairs and king sized mattress in loft. Electric fireplace, all the game boards , cards, chess, fire pit, projector for movies if requested!!! •Additional guests are welcome to pitch a tent on the land if needed. •Hot plate, toaster oven, mini fridge, kitchen appliances, coffee (French press, drip, mocha pot). Black stone grill outside. Fire pit , check if fires are allowed during booking •Separate bathroom with compost toilet or a short walk to outhouse. Outdoor shower in the making, message if available. FUN: •Lake Spaulding is about 1/4 mile hike down from the property. There is a boat launch and plenty of room to park it on the property if you want to bring a boat. Also have two paddle boards you are welcome to use. Rivers/lakes/swimming holes: •emerald pools, crystal clear water , cliff jumping , waterfalls . 10 minute drive •south yuba river 5-15 minutes depending on the spot (ask for recommendations ) •bowman lake road connects to several lakes . 10 minute drive •lake valley reservoir , 10 minute drive •donner lake, rent kayaks, paddle boards or a boat. 20 minutes • eagle lakes rd swimming hole about 5 minutes •truckee, the cutest town with fun shops, restaurants and bars, 25 minutes . A meadow with creeks and wildlife lines the Valley floor. Depending on location, distant peaks in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range rise into view. The private and secluded Camp sits at the edge of the meadow on 40 acres. It offers multiple sites for vista viewing, camping and fire pits set along two seasonal creeks. Available for one camping party's exclusive use, basic camping comforts include picnic tables, metal and stone fire pits, and an out house with a view. Follow the lower creek out from the Camp into the meadow and Valley floor to find a damned swimming hole. Off-road vehicles, dirt bikes, hiking, fishing, water sports, golf, skeet, and the like are available at or near the Camp, as is LTE cellphone and data services. Alpine Valley Campsite is a short distance to Reno, Truckee, Stampede and Boca Reservoirs, and Lake Tahoe. It is located approx. 4.5 miles from Stampede Reservoir, 5.4 miles from the Truckee River in Verdi, and 17 miles from the Boca Reservoir and Truckee River in Truckee. Host highly recommends 4x4/AWD vehicle OR at least 7" of ground clearance, driving slow on dirt and rocky roads (approximately a 25-minute drive from entrance of Toiabye National Forest-Verdi, CA entrance at 5-10 mph), and experience with pack-in, pack-out camping. Detailed welcome letter with local destinations, GPS coordinates, Valley map and links provided upon booking. Nightly rate is for up to two campers; any camping party is limited to eight (8) campers and each additional camper is assessed a guest fee of $44/nt If you'd like to collect wood from the property, simply purchase a bundle of wood when completing your booking.
