This camp site was the perfect stop on our cross country adventure. It was so peaceful and quiet out in the free range wide openness of Arizona. Nani was an awesome host. She made sure we found the place with no problems and thought of all the little touches to make the stay magical. Her labor of love truly shines through at Lancelot and I hope it continues to thrive and prosper. We will definitely be back next time we travel out this way.

Nani was awesome. Site was great. Tree house was awesome on a cold night. Thanks for letting me and my daughter use the treehouse instead of setting camp in the dark.

The directions to Nani's camp were easy to follow and I arrived without problems. I was met by site 2 by Nani to get oriented. It took just a few moments for her to talk me into sleeping in the little cabin she is working on. The heater in the cabin really did the trick as I was comfortable all night. The location is marvelous. I had a great view in any direction. sunset was memorable. It is very quiet there, I really heard only small animal sounds and the wind.
I will return to this camp the next time I pass this way.

Nani was amazing as a host and she was so accommodating, kind, and welcoming. We loved the location of the place and we were able to see meteors and stars right at our campsite at night. The area was stunningly beautiful in a vast open sort of way but there were also plenty of juniper trees to keep you protected at the campsite. We arrived very late on a stormy night and Nani was nice enough to meet us on the dirt road in to escort us to the campsite so we didn’t get lost. She had free firewood, sweet little gift bags, and lots of supplies ready too. She even offered to let us stay in a cabin she has on the property if the wind and rain got too bad for our tent although we did just fine on her great tent platforms. The dirt road back in is a bit beat up so I would recommend a 4-wheel drive car but we had no trouble in our Subaru getting out to the campsite. There is lots of neat history and nature in nearby Holbrook, Winslow, Snowflake, and Heber-Overgaard and we had a great time exploring. I would especially recommend the Navajo County Historical Society Museum for lots of cool, free, local history. We will certainly be back to this special and wonderful little campsite and we can’t wait to camp with Nani again soon!

We were getting in late in the day and couldn’t reach Nani via phone or text. We ended up not going and staying at Holbrook KOA. I think this is more a technical issue with hipcamp and it’s mobile phone usability than anything with site. We wished we had had a chance to stay.

Nani was so warm and inviting. I got in so late and was tired. I was going to set up a tent but Nani let me use a small cabin and I was able to rest easy. Getting there can be a little difficult if you have a low profile car like me, but I made it. The sky was beautiful and I would absolutely stay here again. The gift bag was also the sweetest touch.

Nani was such an accommodating host and she was so kind, she let me know about upcoming weather that I didn’t know was coming, she was very personable and wanted to make it the best stay we had and even when things came up and we weren’t able to make it, she was so understanding and kind, we may not have actually gotten to camp there but I would recommend her campground to anyone with how above and beyond she went!

Relaxing stays with amazing sunsets. Nani is a fantastic host! So kind, helpful, and quick responses. Even though the roads into her property are pretty rough, we would definitely stay again.

What a lovely quiet perfect get-away-from-it-all spot! Well off the beaten path. A middle of the night wander yielded the Milky Way and numerous constellations, and the intense quiet was only interrupted by far off coyotes, singing their tribal voices to the darkness. Nanni was an exemplary host, meeting us and driving us to her campground.

Nani was sweet & very hospitable, we were amazed to find out that she had developed the camp herself. The campsites were nicely sized & each had a fire pit with a cooking space if needed. We brought our own camp stove, so that wasn't necessary, but a nice option should we have needed it. Lancelot was a little off the beaten path (albeit via a beaten path), but it was well worth the experience. The Juniper trees about the area are quite lovely, & we slept quite well with the nearly silent night. There were some coyotes that we faintly heard that night, but they were far in the distance & never came near the camp. Facilities were relatively basic, but were relatively straightforward, clean, & didn't stink. Our three dogs had a great time as well, as there were also many new smells to enjoy. We would happily recommend checking out Lancelot & meeting Nani. Great times!

Nani is quite frankly, an angel in the desert. She was so very accommodating with directions and getting my daughter and I set up in the oh so comfy "tiny house treehouse" as it was a chilly night. Stars abounded that night, as did good dreams. We awoke to a beautiful sunrise and excellent walk about the property. Nana invited to waffles and coffee the next morning, offered suggestions on the Petrified Forest and the surrounds. Oh, AND Nani gifted a little travel bag of cards, pens and paper-WOW. Next time, LONGER STAY, and campground stories around a fire with Nani. Thank you Nani!

What a beautiful and thoughtful place to camp. Just the right amount of sites, well stocked, quiet, serene, and the most gracious host! Nani is a gem! It rained briefly, but I got a fire going, and then a FULL RAINBOW spread across the sky. It was a truly beautiful moment.

If you’re looking for seclusion, peacefulness, serenity, and the coolest hostess ever, then look no further because this spot is it! We booked this site super last minute, and Nani was incredibly welcoming. It’s quite aways down an unpaved road, which is flanked by countryside, wildflowers, wildlife, and straight beauty —> the drive is worth it. This site is perfect; there’s fire pits, picnic tables, decks/tent stands, and an outhouse, all within close proximity. It is QUIET out here. And Nani, she is the ultimate hostess, full of stories and just a truly lovely person to talk to. She even stocked an area with first aid stuff, waters, and rope for travelers who might need a few extras. We LOVED this site the most!!

We came with a 25’ RV and a 2 person tent. The location is incredibly peaceful and serene, a gorgeous piece of high desert living. Nani is an amazing host, takes excellent care of the camping area, truly above and beyond. She’s super responsive to messages too. We wish we could’ve stayed more than one night, it’s a real hidden gem!

This campsite was peaceful and pristine. It was probably the best maintained campsite I’ve ever been to, with a platform, a perfect fire pit dug out, and a super clean outhouse with a composting toilet. Nani was the nicest host, very communicative, and offered up a tarp for us to use while camping on a rainy evening. The location is far out from town, so it is perfect for stargazing. We used it as a quiet spot to retreat to after a fun day in the petrified forest.

Nani is so sweet. When we arrived she came right down to meet us and to make sure the site was okay. It’s a ways off the beaten path but worth it. The sunset and sunrises were amazing. We will definitely be back when we can stay longer.

Great place to stay. You can tell the host really loves being a Hipcamp host. She has put a lot of work into making the place great with tent platforms and compos toilet. We had some great conversations. If I'm ever back I'll visit again!

We happened to bring the monsoon rains with us at our stay, but the tree house was an excellent shelter - and kept us from having to set up our tent in the rain.
Cell service with AT&T and T-Mobile were very poor (which was ideal - getting away from it all was a key decision in staying at Lancelot desert camping). Unfortunately, that meant downloading the map from Nani was not possible and we got a little lost.
Nani met us in her blue forester and guided us in our red forester to the campsite (#ForesterPeople!). Rain clouds parted enough to see the Milky Way for a few hours before the monsoon rains returned. Roads going in and out with the rain were a little rough - but our all wheel drive was able to take them in stride. (If you have a sedan and the weather is mild, you should be fine as well).
We recommend downloading the map prior to leaving Holbrook.

This was a great stop on my drive east! Nani was so hospitable, and the treehouse was cozy, warm, and well-equipped. Would absolutely stay again, either camping or in the treehouse.

Nani is so sweet! Everything was perfect, I was running late and she even came out to meet me so I didn’t get lost. Loved the tree house, slept like a rock, it was so peaceful. Finally, talk about a beautiful night sky! I don’t think it gets better. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get out and see some stars.
