This is the perfect spot for relaxing, stargazing, and soaking in those famous Arizona sunsets. You’ll have a spacious, private campsite all to yourself—I only allow one booking at a time to ensure a peaceful and personal experience. Please note: This is a working horse ranch, which means you'll see fencing, trailers, and occasional activity from people helping keep the ranch running. While your campsite is private, our property is just over two acres—so you'll also see neighboring homes. If you're looking for complete solitude with no sights, sounds, or smells of ranch life, I recommend dispersed camping elsewhere. My 2.2-acre private horse ranch is home to: • 8 rescue horses • 2 donkeys • 8 mini pigs and a few chickens! …all ready to meet and greet! Trail access? Absolutely. Hiking and horseback riding trails lead directly from the property into Spur Cross Conservation Area—or take a short 10-minute drive to a main trailhead. Black Mountain Hiking Trail is also nearby and offers panoramic views of the valley. You can even ride your horse into town and tie up at the local cowboy bars! ⸻ A few things to note: • The landscape varies with the season—there won’t be green grass in the summer • Please keep pets away from cactus—they bite! • We’re located in a desert neighborhood, so please respect the nearby homes. My house and neighbors house will be in view from your campsite. • A horse corral (50 ft round pen) is available to rent—message me if interested! ⸻ Looking for more adventure? Lake Pleasant, Bartlett Lake, Tonto National Forest, Seven Springs, and other scenic destinations are a short drive away. Need supplies? Walmart, Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, and more are just 10 minutes down the road. Want to explore a truly unique cowboy town? Perfect spot for relaxing, stargazing, and a fantastic view of the famous AZ sunsets! You'll have your own side of the property to hang out with a firepit (subject to fire restrictions), a table, and chairs. The space is a large flat dirt/rock area where you have room for multiple vehicles and/or multiple tents. You'll be shielded from the neighbor's view and have a semi-private spot among the vegetation. It’s a fabulous spot for photo shoots but your phone will be perfect to capture the incredible sunsets! My horses, donkeys, and pigs are just a few steps away. Feel free to greet them through the fence. You might hear the Donkeys braying for treats! The property is safe, beautiful, and serene. It is also a working ranch so the property owner and friends may be roaming the property caring for the animals. The neighborhood Mule Deer have been frequenting this area for 50 years as well as the Javelinas and coyotes (don't leave any food out or you'll have visitors!). Please be mindful we also live in rattlesnake country! But not to worry because the land is cleared so they will be easy to see. Accessible by a short walk, the Town of Cave Creek maintains a network of multi-use trails that connects portions of the Town, providing access to Cave Creek Regional Park, Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, the Tonto National Forest, and linkages to the 314-mile Maricopa Trail and the Desert Foothills Land Trust properties. These trails offer hiking, biking and horseback riding.

Cute Living Quarters Trailer

The Cute Living Quarters trailer is a 2008 Bison LQ that includes a shower, toilet, A/C, space heater, a full-size bed with a comfortable memory foam topper, propane stove, toaster oven, new microwave, coffee maker, seating area, and Roku TV! Please note that the "horse and tack area" of the trailer is off-limits. (The fridge does not work - cooler is provided, bring ice!). Please read the rules section for more information! There are specific instructions for using the water pump and electricity. The refrigerator is currently in repair and is unusable at this time. I will leave a cooler outside of the camper (bring your own ice), but please bring it inside at night if you have food otherwise the javelinas will have dinner! Fits 2 people comfortably. Please be extra careful with dogs and clean up after their hair/droppings. No smoking in the trailer. Let me know if you need a different check in or check out date.

I had such a wonderful time staying in this cute living quarters trailer! The pigs were so cute to see, the property well kept, the owner friendly and accomidating and the neighborhood quiet and peaceful! I hope to be back!

We loved camping at Macy’s land. It was in a great location, peaceful, and we loved seeing all the animals. She was great to work with and we would definitely go back an again. Highly recommended.

I wish I could have stayed longer! Macy’s place is beautiful. I appreciated all the ways she made it easy to just pull up and relax - super clear instructions to access everything I needed. The animals are wonderful, the town is lovely and the scenery is stunning. Definitely on my favorite list when I come back through. Thank you!

This was our first time using Hipcamp (& our trailer) & loved our experience. Macy was great with communications, was incredibly welcoming, hospitable & kind. She was generous with her time showing my human circus around & even let them meet her new chicks (so stinking adorable). The property was close enough to town & other “stuff” that we didn’t feel like we were too far into isolation, yet off the main road enough to feel like we could enjoy the great outdoors. The great takeaways were: we felt that we could message her & get a quick response, we felt safe with her & being at her property, we were off the beaten trail just the right amount & we loved how welcoming she was to our tiny human. oooh! For any other first-timers: measure first, set up second. After setting up & leveling the trailer we learned we were 5” short on reaching the electric outlet. Total Back to the Future moment trying to connect cords. Good times! Thank you, Macy for the memories! And thank you for laughing with us (or maybe at us 😁) through it all.

Sweet quiet place, beautiful views very near amenities and great town of Cave Creek. We loved being near the animals, though that also comes with the aroma, which we didn’t mind one bit. Walking trail right off main road to walk our dog. 30 amp is on extension cord and worked fine to run our a/c. Loved it.

Great site and views! Macy was a super host and her friendly animals were an added plus. Very convenient location to town. Nice and quiet. Our young pup enjoyed interacting with the animals in a safe environment.

Macy’s ranch was on a very pretty piece of land. We played with her pigs. They were really friendly and loved belly scratches. Her horses were beautiful. We liked having a quiet spot to park our camper van that was not too far from the Phoenix area.

PROPERTY UNSAFE FOR PETS

Macy was polite and responsive to our request to book her single site. But unfortunately the positive experience ended there. My family’s single night booking was spent at the Emergency Vet after our dog was severely injured while on-leash by a particularly dangerous species of cactus known as a “Jumping Cactus” (google for information) just a few steps off of her driveway. Dozens of barbed spines impaled our dog, requiring surgical removal under anesthesia. The spines were so sharp that I too was embedded when I carried my dog to the car to get emergency assistance. We spent three hours at an emergency vet that night, which cost $991.00. This outcome was entirely foreseeable and preventable, especially to a local resident. But Macy provided no warning to me, a resident of CT, about the single extremely dangerous cactus plant right off of her driveway. The property had no designated area to walk a dog (which is why we walked alongside the driveway), very poor lighting, and no barrier or border to provide warning or keep pets/humans safe. When I reached out to Macy, she apologized for not warning us, but refused to accept responsibility for our injuries because the cactus was a “native species.” (Macy refunded $65.00, the cost of our stay, but refused to pay any portion of the vet bill). When booking a site on HipCamp, one expects more than a hose hookup, parking spot, and extension cord for an RV. We expected a safe spot for the night. But we were let down.

Serenity under the Stars
Cute Living Quarters Trailer
Adorable little trailer in a quiet setting to just sit under the stars. Close enough to town to enjoy the nightlife but not have to drive far. Macy our host was very kind and informative...even had a chance to pet the pigs! Great time, thank you Macy!!

We had a fantastic night. Our campsite was next to a huge Saguaro that she has illuminated with a light. We had shore power, which was wonderful, and then spent the evening next to the fire pit watching the stars. We could hear coyotes in the distance, and virtually no sounds of civilization. We felt like we were alone in the desert. The following morning we were able to see their horses and pigs, which is always fun and was a bonus for us. We would highly recommend staying here. We are so thankful that they shared their property with us.

We look forward to staying at Margarita ranch again!! Macy was an awesome host. The camp sight has an amazing view!! Very quiet. 1 mile to the main drag in old town Cave Creek with lots of great shops and restaurants. Splurge and treat yourself to a ranch tour. Lots of fun to meet all the critters. Amazing views. It was great to walk around and visit the horses, pigs and donkeys. We will definitely come back. Peaceful but 5 minutes from Cave Creek with great restaurants.

This property is WORTH visiting for anyone looking for an incredible view, a GREAT host, and some heart capturing farm animals (Pigs, dog, horses, donkeys) and gorgeous, tall saguaro cacti at the campsite! I stood in one place and just rotated in a circle for about 5 min when I first got there with my mouth dropped open. This was at night, then the daylight revealed all its splendor. Such a great place, honored to have been able to stay there. Great electricity supply, easy access to water, and campfire area is phenomenal. Thank you, Macy!!! 🤗

Camp Marguerita Ranch - DRY CAMPING
Macy’s hipcamp site was fantastic. She is a welcoming host who made us feel welcome while honoring our independence. We were able to enjoy a wonderful campfire at night and a beautiful sunrise in the morning amongst the saguaro cacti. There are several wonderful hikes in the area due to an active land trust. Though we did not have time to explore the little town, we will next time we stay at Macy’s site.

Note - I stayed Marguerita for 4 nights. Macy was very easy to deal with. She pointed out everything I needed upon arrival and then left me on my own. When I had a question the response was quick. I was in the area to play some golf and tour in Phoenix. Although it took some time to drive into town, staying at Cave Creek was rustic and off the beaten track.

Situated in the cutest town that will make you feel like you’ve been placed inside a John Wayne movie. Lots of local art to see and purchase, and lunch at Local Johnny’s is a must! Macy was very accommodating and her ranch is beautiful.

Hidden gem in Phoenix

I booked this site last minute and Macy was super accommodating. I just needed a quiet place to crash before heading into Phoenix. Water and electric were ready to go when I arrived. Also you’re able to take a walk around the property and see the animals. The horses are beautiful and the pigs are literally as friendly as puppies. Great place to relax.

This was the perfect place to crash while I was visiting family in Cave Creek. It was well equipped, the air conditioning worked great and quickly, and it's a very quiet place. Super convenient to Cave Creek. Macy was great to work with

Cute Living Quarters Trailer
Macy’s trailer was so cute and comfortable! Bed was very nice and strong AC and heating to keep the inside comfortable. She was so nice and let us pet her pigs and explore a little bit of her property. Very close to town but still secluded enough to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. I wish we could have stayed longer.
