This conveniently located tiny home is a great stop on your way to/from Lake Tahoe. A small shipping container-turned-bunkhouse provides two bunk beds with running water, an outdoor shower, and solar energy. There is plenty of space available for tents for group camping or you can bring an RV (check with us first). The property is accessible from I-80, 2 miles along an easily-passible, private, paved road. Whether you're looking for a quiet, private serenity, or a unique overnight stop, you'll enjoy your time at Tailwinds Ranch.Welcome to Tailwinds Ranch, a private camp site with a bunk house that sleeps two people, outhouse, water, and electricity secluded on ten acres with easy access to Interstate 80. These cozy accommodations are great for a getaway with friends or as an overnight stop enroute to Lake Tahoe or crossing the Sierra Nevadas. Accommodations: Bunk House - Two beds with twin XL mattresses. BYO sleeping bag or use the included sheets/sleeping bags. Additional guests/tents/vehicles - up to 10 total people are welcome. Please observe the additional guest fees to help us improve the space into the future. Bring your own tents for additional guests or they may sleep on the floor. Outhouse - pit style toilet (non-flushing). TP and hand sanitizer included. Water - holding tank provides water for outdoor shower, indoor sink, and for putting out fire pit. Use water filter to reduce hard water taste. Settled minerals may be present but water has been tested as safe to drink. Please be considerate with water usage. Electricity - off grid, solar powered, should provide ample power for heating, lighting, cooking, refrigerating, and charging. Please be mindful of your usage so you don’t run out. Heating & AC - Space heater and AC are available. AC has not yet been evaluated during summer months. Wifi/Cellular - No wifi, however there is good cell service and 5G on major carriers. Trash - Please take all trash with you. There is no trash service in the neighborhood. DO NOT LEAVE FOOD OUTSIDE OR UNATTENDED TO PREVENT WILDLIFE FROM BECOMING AGGRESSIVE. Fire Pits - Propane Pit and small wood burning fire table are available year round. Bon fire pit only available between first and last rainfall (depending on local rules, approximately Nov-May) with prior permission.

Miami Vice Bunkhouse
Wonderful, private and peaceful site! The bunkhouse is surround by trees and other greenery. Different birds flying by and chirping in the distance. My dogs also had a lot of fun in the sun. The bunkhouse was clean and comfortable and the site was prepared for our arrival. There were lights outside and even inside the outhouse. The outhouse was clean as well. It was amazing to have running water and a sink to wash with. There were kitchen supplies, books, games, small fan and heater, and fire starters. Great amenities for a comfortable stay. For the summer season, there is also a magnetic screen door for both the bunkhouse and outhouse door. Noticed bug repellents around the site and some bug zappers provided in the bunkhouse. Maybe it was early in the season but I think the bugs were really minimal. Had no issues considering mosquitos usually devour me. I would definitely recommend checking this site out.

I loved Tailwinds! Definitely felt private. It was beautiful and quiet. Sam was quick to respond and very helpful. The place was well stocked, the ac was cool, the shower was hot, and the beds were comfy. My friends were also impressed and loved the place. I would definitely stay again. Thank you, Tailwinds!

what a wonderful place! it was wonderful to stay in the off grid tiny house. the ac was great, the site was quiet, and the hot shower and outhouse were a definite blessing. loved my retreat in the woods here :)

Nice secluded area. When you arrive there is a loop that everyone an set up around. The bunk house was very cute and comfortable. There’s an outhouse for bathroom and it has a water tank with drinking water from a well. We were fairly loud and out sound did not travel very far. I would like to come back with a larger group
