The Rabbit Hole Ranch offers beautiful unobstructed views of the majestic Blanca Massif and the Great Sand Dunes and is just a (gorgeous) 35 minute drive from both to include Zapata Falls. The Great Sand Dunes National Park is a must-see, and I am grateful for the opportunity to offer you a place nearby to set up camp and go exploring. Alamosa, the largest town in the SLV, is just 20 minutes away. With a population of around 9,800 Alamosa has that small town feel and has the goods and services you will need. Camping here at the Rabbit Hole Ranch is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Typically, you will experience a rare kind of solitude and silence that feels…. other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies. On holidays, however, expect it to be busy. Our two Great Pyrenees are here to help keep you and your pets (and our chickens) safe. Please help make their jobs easier by not leaving any food or trash in or around tents. Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with all three of our dogs. This year we have a new Great Pyrenees to greet you, his name is TheoVon and he is huge! Returning this season is KayLee also a GP and and Finn, who is a little Benji lookin rescue from Alaska who just LOVES everyone. :) Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm. Note: Holidays still offer the excellent location and spectacular views, but are likely to be less quiet and far more busy. We do not strictly enforce quiet time during holidays.

Beautiful unobstructed views of Blanca Massif and the Great Sand Dunes. Only a 35 minute drive from both to include Zapata Falls.  Camping here is primitive and dispersed (no numbered sites) and there 30 acres available for you to use. Typically you will feel a solitude and silence that feels other-worldly, with incredible sunrises and sunsets filling the enormous skies behind spectacular and unusual cloud formations. Holidays still offer the excellent location and spectacular views, but are likely to be more busy. Our Great Pyrenees, KayLee, and her little sidekick Finn, are guardians who keep our chickens (and campers) safe from predators. Please be careful leaving food or trash in tents as a family of foxes has been hanging around (so cute). Please keep your pets on leash or under control until you’re comfortably certain they get along with ours. Quiet time begins at 10pm. Except for holidays. Very low light pollution makes RHR a primo spot for star gazing and night photography. Fishing is 15 minutes north at San Luis Lakes or the Rio Grande. Alamosa is 25 minutes away and has a population of around 10,000, and has the goods and services you will need.

Rabbit Hole Runaway

Onsite RV/trailer · Sleeps 2
Tiny pull-behind camper, parked in a convenient spot near the Tungsten Ln entrance to the Rabbit Hole Ranch camping areas! Please see the Hipcamp ‘Rabbit Hole Ranch’ or ‘Sand Dunes Rabbit Hole’ listings for property description. Super cute shelter from the elements. Get out of the weather and stay comfortable! Electricity! It has AC and is wired for electricity, but you’ll need to bring a small generator if you’d like to use the power. Solar will be added soon. A fire ring. A small picnic table. The Runaway doesn’t have any furniture or bedding so you’ll need your own air mattress, pillows, sleeping bags, etc. Basically you'd just pack like you would when tent camping, only you can leave the tent behind. Camper sleeps 2, but additional guests are allowed to share site if they bring their own tent or camper or can sleep in their car, etc.
