Great spot, beautiful views! It’s a small space inside but the bed is comfortable and you have so much space outside to cook and enjoy the fire and the stars. Would definitely stay again.

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a truly magical mountain getaway at Blue Bear Retreat, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the absolutely stunning views that surrounded us. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for our stay.
The tiny home was equipped with all the nice little touches that made our experience even more enjoyable. The outdoor bathroom was immaculate, which was a big plus, and I appreciated the attention to detail throughout the cabin. One of the unexpected highlights was the Starlink Wi-Fi, allowing us to stay connected while still enjoying the serene mountain atmosphere.
The cabin was cozy and warm, thanks to the adorable mini woodstove. The outdoor wood stove added a charming ambiance to our evening. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a restful night after our day of adventure and hiking.
Overall, we had the best time at Blue Bear Retreat. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. We are already planning our next visit! If you’re considering a stay here, I highly recommend it—10 out of 10!

Great little cabin that our girls loved. Lots of thought went into this place. Good views, lots of privacy, super quiet. Never met Cesar personally but he was very responsive and welcoming. We weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor stove due to high wind, but can’t blame anyone for that except nature. We would definitely come back for another quick getaway.

Staying at Blue Bear was absolutely amazing! The views are breathtaking and the cabin is incredibly cozy! Cesar’s directions were very helpful - echoing that you should get the directions prior to heading up the mountain as you’ll likely not have service. You should also bring your own water! We cannot recommend this place enough. The little wood burning oven was perfect for warming up the cabin and provided such a fun element! Did we already mention the views? 12/10!

This is the most magical HipCamp we have ever stayed at! Very clear instructions and had no issue finding location. They had started the fire inside for us before we got there and it kept us plenty warm throughout the night. Thank you for creating such a wonderful spot!

Not one to leave reviews but this needs ALL the praise. Secluded, beautiful views, and clean facilities. Cesar was fast to respond to any issue I had, checked up on me to see if I needed anything. 100/10 for sure! Thank you for the amazing experience. 🙏🏽

This exceeded expectations by a mile! The view is beautiful and the lodging is extremely well kept. There are plenty of things onsite that beginner camper/glampers like myself forgot or didn’t even think to bring. It was a great experience and I’ve already recommended it to friends. I hope to come back again!

The Blue Bear
We loved The Blue Bear! It was so cozy and wonderful. Our family had a great time and particularly loved the rocks nearby and the views of Indian peaks. I would say to be sure you have your food plan prepared ahead of time. We forgot to pick up dinner and the food options nearby closed early.

This site had everything we needed! The view was breathtaking and hard to capture in the pictures on the site. Directions were clear, tho do load your map before entering the mountains. It feels nice and isolated, even though we were never far from the ranch. Had a blast with the wood stove heater, and enjoying the autumn colors. Hosts were responsive but not intrusive.

Hipcamp is a bit weird. All the places owners say they are protecting the environment but they make the guests do all the dirty work. If it was cheap, I would understand but they ask you to pay about $200 and also pay for everything like blankets, campfire wood, etc. Even if you put your trash in a bag and collect it well, they blame you if you don't take it with you. Most of the places are old but they don't apologize for it. They charge you the same or more price than Air BnB but there is no service spirit and the guests have to do everything. They make the guests responsible for protecting the environment and the owners try to teach and watch the guests from behind. I don't think I will use Hipcamp anymore.

Blue Bear is a little slice of paradise. Cesar is SO welcoming and his stay is top notch. It’s easy to find from the road because there are large signs and clear instructions which made getting there very enjoyable. The home is small but so well thought out. The bed and couch are comfy, bathroom was clean and the Starlink WiFi was fast. The views are unmatched - you have a clear view of the Indian Peaks mountain range and you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but in reality are barely a few miles off the main road. 12/10 recommend this incredible HipCamp. We will be back!!

The Blue Bear was a great spot to get away and have privacy in nature but without giving up conveniences. A great balance and exactly what we were looking for. Very nice host and cleanest outhouse I’ve used. Definitely climb around the rocks!

The blue bear was a perfect retreat to disconnect and have some bonding time with my mom. Driving there is super easy as long as you punch in the directions before hand and it always helps downloading sections of a maps in your apple map or google map in case of loss of service. Most of the drive is on asphalt road and the last stretch (felt like 1/2 a mile) was dirt road but even my Toyota Camry (sedan) handled it with ease. The blue bear was very clean with enough amenities to have a very comfortable stay like a gas grill, outdoor fire pit, wifi, and electricity. Although I did not get to try the shower I did turn it on and found it to have strong water pressure. Property had wood bundles available to purchase which was very nice. In doors we made use of the microwave and the paper plates and plastic cutlery. The bed upstairs was comfortable with a window that allowed airflow. Large windows downstairs and large door with mosquito net to keep out bugs while allowing that fresh air to come in. The view from the blue bear is AMAZING with practically no mountains to obtrude the sun set. Due to location of the blue bear on the mountain you get plenty of sunlight from sunrise to sunset.

Fantastic location close to Ward with great access to Indian Peaks wilderness. Sweet cabin with good amenities and cosy set-up with loft bed upstairs and pullout sofa in living space. Friendly communication with hosts. Would like to come back in cold season and try out the log burner!

The Blue Bear
Nice spot nestled away with great Mountain View’s! Loved hearing the horse nearby, otherwise it was as expected and made for a great touchdown spot for trips to Rocky Mountain. Would certainly come again!

Cesar was beyond accommodating and this place really is the perfect weekend retreat. The photos don’t do it justice! It was a bit windy so we didn’t have the chance to hike, but all the amenities assured we still had the weekend we were looking for.

I loved camping at the Blue Bear. Walking along the mountain 🏔️ was stunning. I was able to use the wood stove for the cold night which kept me warm, definitely was a plus. All around great experience…I’ll visit Blue Bear 🐻 and recommend to my friends. A+++

I loved the stay at Cesar's Blue Bear. The snow capped mountains view was amazingly beautiful as well as the change of colors during sunset. I also loved the sound of the pines and the feeling of being one with nature. The wood stove was fantastic and kept us warm through the night. I highly recommend the Blue Bear!!!

Our stay at Bluebear couldn't have gone any better! We arrived to the property and follower the easily visible signs to our spot. We got to the tiny home and could not believe the view. The pictures don't do it justice! We started the wood stove and enjoyed a toasty place while we slept. Bonus points for the twinkle lights next to the bed. The twinkle lights were great, and we really dug the vibe, but the most glorious part of our stay was getting to see the starry night over the mountains. There is virtually no light pollution, so the night sky came alive for us!
