Our family has resided on this magnificent property for over 20 years. In the 1950s, before the home was built, our land was known as "the point." Lovers used to drive onto the property, park at the end of the lot which overlooks the eastern plains, and... you know... We live on 6.5 acres of stunning forested land located 1000 feet above downtown Boulder. Our property rests on a peninsula with views of the white-capped peaks to the west and the city lights to the east. The property feels far away from the bustle of city life, yet it is only an EIGHT-MINUTE drive to the heart of downtown Boulder's historic shopping district and ten minutes from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Vista Tranquila, the name given to our property by its previous owners, has trails to meander, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The communal food prep area has a gas grill, a table for food prep, and a seating area. We request that guests pack out all trash. Since we do not provide stoves, pans, utensils, or cleanup facilities, please bring paper towels to wipe off your stoves, pans, dishes, and utensils. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. We do not offer showers. However, the Boulder Recreation Center (a 10-minute drive) offers showers and other facilities for a small fee. You can enjoy a historic mining town experience with fine dining and live bluegrass/ folk music at the town of Gold Hill which is less than 20 minutes up our canyon. Kayakers, climbers, hikers, and cyclists (mountain, road, and gravel) will have an outdoor playground within a very short drive or right outside our door. World-class climbing located at Eldorado Canyon State Park is only a 25-minute drive. If you seek bigger peaks beyond Boulder Mountain Parks, the Indian Peaks Wilderness and Rocky Mountain National Park are a gorgeous 45-minute drive.

Moe's Pad 1 is an easy-in, easy-out parking spot for a car, campervan, or truck-bed camper. The site has become slightly angled over time, so we have provided leveling jacks for guest use. Moe's Pad 1 is on the east side of the driveway across from the main residence with tranquil views of the surrounding mountains. Please note that this is not a private site as it is located in front of the residence. However, if you are looking for a safe place to sleep only 8 minutes from the heart of downtown Boulder, you will truly appreciate the setting. Tents (whether on the ground or top of the vehicle) are NOT permitted at Moe’s Pad 1. Guests are welcome to enjoy Vista Tranquila's trails, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The outdoor food prep area with a gas grill is located near the front side of the main residence, a short walk from Moe’s Pad 1. No cooking in or near your vehicle, please. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. If you are arriving after dark, please turn your headlights low. We are a dark-sky community. Also, please try to be quiet upon your arrival. Although we may seem far from our neighbors, sound travels. Please do NOT run any generators. Vista Tranquila does not provide electrical hookups, dump station, nor trash disposal. Please pack out what you pack in.

Moe's Pad 2 is an easy-in, easy-out spot where a car, campervan, or truck bed camper can rest. Moe's Pad 2 lives on the east side of the residence in the center of the circular drive with views of the surrounding mountains. Moe is the name of our orange tabby cat. Tents (both ground and roof of the vehicle) are NOT permitted at Moe’s Pad 2. Guests are welcome to enjoy Vista Tranquila's trails, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The outdoor food prep area with a gas grill is located near the front side of the main residence, a short walk from Moe’s Pad 2. No cooking in or near your vehicle, please. One thousand feet above Boulder, this private forested site with ridgeline views is a 2-minute walk below the main residence. The site overlooks a privately owned 400-acre expanse. The 10x10 canvas tent houses a full-size frame bed with a headboard and two tree-trunk night tables covered in flagstone. The site has a hammock, camp chairs, and a table made from a tree trunk. Food and drink are not permitted in or near the tent area. Guests are welcome to enjoy Vista Tranquila's trails, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The outdoor food prep area with a gas grill is located on the front side of the main residence, about a 2-minute walk from the tent site. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence. A well-maintained portable flush toilet is provided in a tall tent near the main residence. Warm in winter, and cool in summer, this private entrance walkout is located on the back side, lower level of the main residence. The Nook's private covered deck with seating overlooks our beautiful 6.5-acre property with a rope hammock close by. The large, well-appointed studio is filled with books and art. A queen-sized bed rests on a raised platform. Guests must be comfortable “climbing” into the bed. Please see the photos. The space has a cozy living room with a retro mini fridge, microwave, and quick-boil teapot. A selection of teas and coffee is provided. Guests are welcome to enjoy Vista Tranquila's trails, picnic tables, horseshoes, swings hanging from the trees, a competitive-level trampoline, benches with views, and hammocks. The outdoor food prep area with a gas grill and well-maintained flush port-a-potty are located closer to the front side of the main residence, just a short walk from the studio. A spigot can be found with fresh well water on the back side of the main residence close to the Nook entrance. There is also filtered water inside the studio. Moe's Pad 1
My time at Jennifer and David’s property was great! It was a perfect spot to car camp for a weekend and the property was beautiful. The set up of the property was really nice as well with a hammock and places to look out over the property. Location was great with it only being a few minutes away from town but you get the mountain feel.

It was nice. The spot wasn’t very level, we had to use some of their firewood under our tires to level the van. But it was quiet and nice in the trees, and the portable toilet worked well.

The space was very clean, including the toilet house. I enjoyed swinging on the tall swings for a bit and the landscape was beautiful. Jennifer and David were very kind hosts!

We really enjoyed our stay in Willow’s Roost! Jennifer and David have such a beautiful space. We loved walking around the property and taking in the beautiful views! The tent was comfortable and cozy. It was quiet and serene, perfect for connecting with nature. It was an amazing weekend getaway!

Great escape for a clean and pristine escape for the weekend. Loved being 10 minutes from Boulder and 20 minutes from Gold Hill. Hosts are very kind, helpful and responsive.

Aspen’s Nook is a cozy, clean space on a beautiful property. It’s a great option if you want some comforts of an indoor space while still being able to enjoy the outdoors. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend!

Peace & Quiet 10 Min from Boulder
Willow's Roost
Jennifer and David’s land was a perfect location just outside of Boulder. The tent was perfectly set up for beautiful morning views and the bed was very comfortable. You will park your vehicle near the house and the tent is located down the hill along a walking path from the house. The path is a bit uneven and rocky in spots so will be more difficult for people with mobility issues. The camp toilet is located near the parking space by the house and was in excellent condition compared to some camp toilets we’ve seen. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight/headlamp for any bathroom trips after dark! There are some solar lights along the path, but they are more for showing the general path location. A flashlight was still needed to walk between the tent and our SUV or bathroom. No food or drink was allowed at the tent site. Definitely understandable with the potential wildlife in the area. We had breakfast and our morning coffee at the picnic table near the house and the views from there were beautiful and peaceful too. Jennifer was out of town, but David was an excellent host! He gave us space, but was also easily available for anything we needed. He even asked permission to go down to the tent to water flowers while we were having breakfast. Very thoughtful of him! You can tell they take pride in their property and the spaces they provide for others. Highly recommend this place and hope to stay here again when in the area.

We loved our stay at Aspen’s Nook! The location was perfect - close to town for food and shopping, yet also right next to tons of trailheads for hiking. Inside was very cute and clean. I would definitely recommend it to a friend!

Loved the view and ease of the location. Although we didn’t use any of the available amenities they had tons to keep your attention. Jennifer was super welcoming and so nice, we could have talked for hours! Would definitely recommend staying here, just wish we could have stayed longer.

Got in late and left early in the morning so I did not spend a lot of time there but the host Jennifer was amazing! We chatted for a while and she gave us some spots to check out while we were in town. The bathroom was very clean and I felt safe. Highly recommend!

Our stay while at Willow’s Roost was lovely! The pictures do justice to the real deal, the hosts are very friendly, the toilet is very practical. No showers or anywhere to brush your teeth… but it’s part of the camping experience. Overall I would definitely recommend for you to disconnect from society and reconnect with nature at this place!

What a great spot just outside of Boulder. Our camper van fit perfectly and everything was just as described. There was a great bench for drinking coffee in the AM. Jennifer and David were very accommodating to us out of towners!!

Aspen's Nook
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Aspen's Nook on Jennifer and David's property. The hosts greeted us upon arrival and provided information about the property and nearby attractions. There was another couple on-site at another rental, but we felt like we have plenty of privacy! The area is super quiet, with deer in the morning and vivid stars at night. We were greeted multiple times by their dog and cat - super cute. I would definitely recommend this location to a friend. Aspen's Nook was complete with books, a mini-fridge, and a microwave, all of which we appreciated and took advantage of. We spent plenty of time on the rope hammock and playing horseshoes near the entrance of Aspen's Nook. Can't wait to come back next time we are in Boulder!

We loved the set up of Jennifer and David’s spot! So peaceful, easy to get to, tidy and comfortable. Perfect for anyone wanting to be in nature and sleep in a tent with the ease of a water hookup and outhouse nearby! They provide bedding for a small additional charge, but we were super comfy with our sleeping bags and pillows. I spent a lot of time in their hammock listening to birds and enjoying the quiet serenity. Just a short drive to Boulder, and about an hour away from Estes Park and Rocky Mtn National park. We would have stayed multiple nights if we could have! Will definitely be back :)

Willow's Roost at Vista Tranquila was the perfect start to my solo adventure in Colorado. As a child, I visited RMNP and Estes Park regularly and decided to revisit them as an adult. I began my week in training with colleagues in Denver and decided to stay at Willow's Roost in between work and Estes Park. Jennifer and David have created such a calm space, just what I needed to destress and get ready for my upcoming solo time. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were SO soft! I loved sitting in the tent with the windows open listening to the rain drum a melodious tune around me. The provided lamp allowed me to journal after the sun had set, and the wildflowers on the night stand added to the comfort as well. Thank you again for providing such a tranquil(a) space for me as I began my solo journey!

Jennifer and David’s property was wonderful! The drive up the canyon was really cool and the view was beautiful! Jennifer was a terrific communicator and the site was well maintained and clearly marked. I somehow missed reading that there were no tents allowed, but luckily our car was prepped for sleeping already. Morning check out was smooth and we would definitely stay there again. Thank you!

Fantastic spot close to Boulder but feels so far away. The property is beautiful and the hosts and just doggy are friendly, informative and accommodating. I have to rave about the outside toilet they set up. It’s super clean, convenient and private. Way better than a porta potty. Jennifer and David have thought of everything to make your stay fantastic.

ASPENS NOOK- total peace.

This was a perfect stay for my son and I. Away from the city, easy to get to, welcomed by David upon our arrival and the directions and instructions were all very clear. We stayed in Aspens nook - which was literally the best Marty of camping and luxury. The room was so cozy and comfortable complete with luxurious linens. instant coffee clean water, electric water heater, books , mini fridge and microwave. Right outside was a breath taking view and … silence. The restroom was outside and up a hill , it was a shared camping toilet and the cleanest and easy to use. The location and experience made my weekend trip worth the drive from KC feel relaxing and worth it. We were even given so many suggestions for my son to do while he stayed the rest of the week. Other people stayed at the same time and it never felt crowded or weird. This will definitely be my go-to place when in Boulder, I can’t wait to get back, I felt like everything I needed they had and I was able to relax and enjoy my time. I could definitely breathe easier when I left. I even witnessed a pine cone falling from a tree right off the porch- it was awesome!

We went up for one night & got rain/snow; also showed up late & after dark. Hosts were super nice & came out to the car to make sure we were settled & had everything we needed! Would definitely return - beautiful property & sweet little tent site.
