Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you cannot drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). This site is great if you are camping in a van, small pop-up, car or truck. This is a flat spot in a shaded area in a large meadow. There is a gravel drive that leads to this spot, and the site is on grass (you will be parked on grassy ground. Please consider this in the event of rain, as the ground may be soft. If the ground is saturated and not suitable for parking, an alternative will be to stay parked on the gravel drive). This site is ideal if you would like to camp/sleep inside your car, truck or van. This is the only site you can drive onto. No campers or RVs allowed, just vehicle parking or vans, or small pop-ups. There is no electricity or water hookups here. Our Cabin site is a rustic cabin overlooking a creek. The perfect chance to experience nature in comfort. Our cabin has one queen loft and one twin loft that are accessible by ladder. There is a futon couch downstairs that can fold into a bed. You can watch tv, and there are electric and battery lamps. While there is no running water, there is water dispenser with fresh water, and a sink that drains to outside. There is a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the winter. Plenty of windows allow for natural sunlight. 5 screened windows open to allow fresh air, and there is a fan to keep you cool in the summer. (Please note there is not an air conditioner) Front porch and back deck allow opportunities to sit outside and relax There is a portapotty a short walk away, and a bathrooom with flush toilet and outdoor hot shower a longer walk away. Provided in cabin: queen and twin lofts are fully made with bedding. Sheets and comforter are provided for the futon. Kitchen stocked with tea kettle, paper plates, disposable cups and utensils, paper towels, trashbags. Battery operated Water dispenser for sink for running water. electric and battery operated lamps and fan. 5 screened windows with blinds. Please note there is no Air Conditioner. Screened windows and fans provided

Had a great time here on Marla's land , the trails are clear and enjoyed the scenery. Going to play night Frisbee tonight in the open field should be fun ! Place gives you the real feel of Nature ! Relaxing !

We had a wonderful time tent camping for the weekend!! Marla’s property is beautiful, quiet, and very peaceful. The campsites are spaced out nicely for privacy, the grounds are well-kept, and the location is an easy drive to downtown. Plus, they have carts to help haul your things to/from your vehicle, as well as firewood provided!! We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience using Hipcamp. Definitely recommend!!

River camp is a wild, natural area just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Fort Wayne. It's amazing how remote it feels. Marla is a great host, and has kept the natural feel while having every convenience you would want while camping. I sat down on the river watching geese with goslings, and a Bald Eagle that was hunting for a relaxing evening.

We had such a great time camping and using their little cabin that has just about everything you would need to camp! Not only has a queen bed but also a twin bed for your kid's our two boys fit in it( 6 and 9 years old). My personal favorite is they think of all the stuff for your family to be comfortable! Their property is beautiful and my kids love playing in the river!!

The cabin is amazing. They have added a driveway to the cabin with a parking spot next to it. It is spacious, with a wood burning stove, electric, and water. There is a tv, dvd player, queen bed, twin bed, and a futon couch. The best part is the hosts are amazing.

We absolutely LOVE River Camp. Site are well placed and semi-private with trees separating sites. Plenty of room to hike around and explore. Marla is very responsive and accommodating to her campers. The camp is kid and dog friendly BUT also space for adults who just want to get away and enjoy alone time.

Marla’s land was perfectly set up for camping! Site six is perfect if you camp with pups! We were pretty secluded and the river was right behind us! You have to walk a little way to the site so be prepared when setting up and taking down! But it was well worth it! I would definitely camp here again!

Marla’s place was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. It’s just a short drive from downtown and very easy to locate. The campsites were much more spacious than I expected from the photos, giving us plenty of room to spread out and enjoy nature. A lovely trail leads directly to the scenic St. Marys River, which was a pleasant surprise. There were also fun activities like badminton and basketball to keep us entertained, and we appreciated having access to a TV and electricity. Firewood was abundant, so we had no trouble staying cozy by the fire. At night, it was wonderfully quiet, allowing us to fully unwind. If you need supplies, Walmart and Kroger are just minutes away. The restroom and shower facilities were impressively clean and well-maintained, making the stay even more comfortable. Overall, it’s a fantastic spot for anyone looking to disconnect while still having conveniences close by. I would love to come back again and highly recommend it!

The cabin is first class, everything new very well furnished and the stove has a lot of wood outside. The kayaks were in great condition, and the owner let us use them free of charge. Parking at a golf course downriver, taking the kayaks from the site to the parking spot, and hauling them was an amazing experience. The property is well kept and very low on annoying biting insects. The creek on the property is picturesque and the fact that there is river access make this very inclusive for the nightly rate. The owners give you privacy and the vibe is great. The great screech owls and herons are beautiful and huge and breathtaking, don't miss out.

This is our second time staying at this hipcamp and we loved it just as much as the first! There were no other campers when we were there so it was very quiet and lovely to have the place to ourselves. Love the string lights at night! Dog friendly and all around great place to stay if you are in the area.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Cabin site. The cabin has water, electricity, a small tv, and plenty of area outside to cook and build a nice fire. There is plenty of wood available to sustain a fire as well!

The campground is amazing as always! We usually camp in our tent, but we chose the cabin for our honeymoon. It is right outside of town, but it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. The cabin has your modern amenities like electric, water, tv, and dvd player. It does not have a bathroom, but the port o potties are not far away. The river is just a short walk away and calm and peaceful also. I’ve stayed here many times, and will continue to stay here in the future.

My dad and I were on the final stretch of our road trip, and we needed a place to camp. We found River Camp Fort Wayne on the map, and I thought, why not? I'd never used Hipcampers before, so I was a bit unsure, but it turned out to be a great decision. The campsite was very nice and peaceful. They provide a great spot for your tent and lots of amenities. We would have used the outdoor shower if it hadn't been raining 😅. The trail down to the river was rice too. And we were pleasantly surprised by how close it was to downtown, not too close, not too far. Overall, I'd give it a 10/10! I highly recommend it and will definitely be back if I'm in the area again!

Wow I don't know where to begin. First I was so impressed by the host. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We explored all the sights and found each one to be unique. You can tell they put a lot of thought in each set-up. Our sight was well shaded clean a plenty of wood around. At night there is a beautiful string of lights running throughout the camp ground. It is within walking distance from the river.

Me and my kid went on a camping nature adventure and chose this site. We stayed at camp #1 it was totally surrounded by woods. Charming string lights were strewn throughout the trees. It was kind of magical. Wood was provided and plenty of kindling around to help get it going. Trail to St. Mary's River was not long and challenge level was easy. We enjoyed playing in the river and soaking in nature.

The cabin is amazing! There is plenty of room and space inside. There is electricity, a sink with water, and a wood burning stove inside of the cabin. It has a nice cozy feel and layout. They have also set up a TV with a DVD player and provide some movies. It got a little cool outside at night, so I had the wood burning stove set up and ready if it got cold and didn’t have to use it. I’ll definitely be staying there again sometime soon!

Very nice setting although the sound of motorcycle was heard all night from nearby highway. Otherwise wonderful spot. Loved the outdoor shower. It was soooo hot and the shower was so refreshing.

After moving from Michigan to Fort Wayne we were surprised there weren't many campgrounds near by, so we were glad we found Hipcamp and Marlas site. The directions made everything easy to find, loved the tree lights and the fact there was a normal bathroom available. Super nice that they supply firewood.
