We purchased this slice of paradise in 2003 as a place to relax, recharge, and someday build our dream home. It started as nothing more than a gravel road leading to a small clearing with an old bus and a couple decks. Our children have grown up out here learning a deep respect for nature and the real (non digital) world. Now empty nesters, we live on site. Part of our retirement planning is to spend next several years developing the lower portion of the property (approx. 15 acres) into a campground and retreat for our guests, as well as our own family, friends, and grandchildren. The campground area (currently) consists of a handful of primitive campsites, and a group area. We are working steadily on improvements, including adding more sites, improving the roadways, and upgrading the common areas. In all we will likely have 12-15 total designated camping areas (including a group area or two, as well as a couple hike to secluded locations). For much more details regarding our philosophy, history, and future plans please visit our website at www.zen-acres.com. There is also a lot of additional information listed on the individual campsite descriptions.

6 - Alder

96% (55)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
Showcasing the tenacity and strength of Oregon’s forest, a snapped Alder tree sits in the middle of this large open area telling the story of the 2021 ice storm. With plenty of room for 2+ tents this site offers a picnic table and a designated fire pit. The "Chop Wood" walking trail running behind this site provides the best path to the creek access areas. 2 - Cedar

97% (49)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
A large fallen Cedar lays in the back of this unique site, telling the story of the 1950’s logging era. The tree fall creates a magical tucked away area perfect for a tent. Next to extra guest parking the Cedar is right off the main road nestled near the old logging bridge (please stay off the bridge itself). With two leveled areas for tents surrounded by trees, you can listen to the creek burble under the bridge and experience the tranquility. 1 - Fir

99% (35)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
Around the first bend as you enter the camping area. Close to the entrance to the camping area, this site provides a beautiful, shaded area with a private picnic table and fire pit. Want to head to the easy access area to cool off in the creek? The common area is a short hike (~800') down the gravel road or (better yet) a scenic walk along the wooded trail. 3 - Maple

96% (34)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
The Maple is nestled between several medium to large Big Leaf Maples, a staple of the Oregon forest. This expansive site boasts one of the larger groomed areas. It is also connected to the Chop Wood trail, allowing a serene, car free walk to the clearing and creek. 4 - Cottonwood

100% (23)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 9 · Vehicles under 20 ft
Set back a little further from the road than the others, the sounds of the creek can be clearly heard from camp. This Deluxe site offers a larger camp area, more guests, and a 3rd car in the site. The site is also eligible for the Mini Yurt (Bell Tent) addon option for those interested in a little interested in adding a little "glamp" to their stay. Note: Though this site is quite close to the creek and offers great ambiance as a result, there is no easy direct access to the creek at this location. The best creek access to a beachy area is a couple hundred feet away at the center clearing (see map for details). Group Site

100% (22)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 20 · Vehicles under 20 ft
This is the original camping spot my family used through the 2000's and 2010's. We have had very large family campouts here with tents and campers everywhere.  This is the area still used by my family to this day, but when not in use by my own family, we have decided to offer it to Hipcampers as a group site.  We have big plans for it in the long run, but for now it includes the features listed below.   Current Features: • Large Group Area (room for several tents, and/or small RV's). • Up to 20 Guests (12 Included in base rate) with up to 8 Vehicles. • 24 X 24 Covered area with under cover firepit. • Well water in site. • Under Cover Outdoor Kitchen (counter and storage shelving, sink, and gas countertop stove) • Off Grid Power: Solar panel with small battery array (DC Power) to run basic lighting, well pump, charge phones, misc. electronic devises, etc.. • 4 Picnic Tables and 2 Firepits.   Phase 2 Plans (2024): We are expanding the solar considerably, as well as the power storage. The DC power be should be ample to power the well, and for reasonable DC lighting and device charging. This will also allow us to remove the old solar pole that has been (somewhat) in the way. Later in the year we plan to define the boundaries between the group site and the communal areas, and add a hedge to increase privacy. Phase 3 (2025) We have bigger plans for the site primarily around the bus, and introducing small sleeper cabins or mini yurts.  We also expect to start seeing large groups rent portions of or the entire campground, and for larger events, this will likely be the hub (possibly some day with the pole barn converted into an indoor meeting hall).   Note: There is currently an old bus next to the group area. We have plans to restore it, and ultimately include it with the Group site as a small bunk house, but at present it is off limits, and not part of the site. Please excuse its blemishes while it is in the process of being restored.

7 - Vine Maple (New)

100% (13)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 9 · Vehicles under 20 ft
Another deluxe site that offers a larger camp area, can accommodate more guests, and a 3rd car in the site. The deluxe site is also eligible for the Mini Yurt (Bell Tent) addon option for those interested in a little interested in adding a little "glamp" to their stay. This site is a little closer to the creek access (near the group area), and is a great addon site for groups too large to fit into the Group campsite alone. 9 – Elderberry

92% (12)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 20 ft
The Elderberry is an excellent choice for a couple or small group. Though it is one of our smallest sites, it is still quite spacious compared to public campgrounds, and is well situated as the closest standard site to the main creek access point.
