It was my second time camping in the big group site. The area is beautiful, secluded and perfect for a warm day. The stream cooled us off, the shade too. The running water and extra picnic tables made everything easier for a larger group keen on grilling and cooking up delicious food. Mike, our host, was great about checking in to see if we needed anything but also gave us privacy and space.

Mike is awesome!! Welcoming, helpful, and respectful of your space. His land is absolutely beautiful and he’s created a very special place. It was just me and my two dogs - they love water so we raged in the creek, and Walked the trails, and chilled campsite - I felt super safe and we’ll be back soon! Thanks again Mike for creating a mellow spot to camp and enjoy nature!

It’s zen in all the best ways. Mike is a great guy - he was super welcoming and came by to check in but respectful of your space and privacy. Mike has opened up his amazing land, and created thoughtful campsites that maintain privacy, are shaded and sunny, have clean bathrooms, firewood, and a beautiful creek. It’s magic, and that’s before I even bring the happiest off leash dogs into it - they raged and swam and had the best time chasing squirrels. We’ll be back, it’s truly as great as it looks! Another year of camping at Zen Acers, in the books! Four families and allll the kids enjoyed themselves greatly, thanks to Mike. The pathway down to the river is new and improved this year. Thank you for making our annual spot better and better each year!

This site was perfect for our annual dude’s weekend. We’re a group who plays board games most Thursdays, and once a year a bunch of spend a weekend camping, cooking, and playing games. This year there were ten of us. There was ample room and the nearby river was a real test, too. I met Mike briefly after we arrived, and he clearly cares a lot about his property and has taken great care to make a very nice little campground.

Great camping weekend, site was just as advertised. We had more than enough space and even with a larger group just a few sites down from ours we never saw another camper outside of check in and the only sounds were from the creek and the wind. Perfect raw camping!

What an excellent time at the Cedar site at Zen Acres! Would very easily fit 2 or more tents, mostly secluded from each other with easy parking. Port-a-potty was very close by, and thankfully very clean.

A really great campground.
Quiet, gorgeous forest and creek. Lovely clean sites and porta potties.
We are definitely telling our friends about this spot, only 45 mins from Portland.
It's not a place for a reunion kegger or a lot of barking dogs. It suits a more chill camping style. Really a beautiful spot that we highly recommend.

This group campsite exceeded all expectations! Plenty of space for my 40th birthday gathering (we had 7 families, with some campers and some tents). The shelter has running water (hot and cold!), counters for food prep, lighting, and a fire pit in the center which was handy with the evening rain we experienced. We had a little trouble with the generator that runs the water and lights, and Mike came and fixed it up within 30 minutes. Best customer service, super friendly! The creek that you can hear from your tent winds around the site, and the kiddos enjoyed catching crawfish. Would definitely stay again with a large group, this space was much better than any other group campsite I’ve stayed in state parks.

Me and my partner had an incredible experience at this campground. Luckily, there weren't many other campers and so it was very quiet and serene, letting us hear the sound of the creek all day and night. There were so many little pathways all around the grounds to explore, and the access to the creek was lovely. The host was incredibly helpful and generous, which made us feel well supported during our trip. It's apparent how much the host cares about his property. We will definitely be returning. Thank you greatly!

I absolutely loved camping at Zen acres. I love that Mike the host came and checked us in personally and made sure we had what we needed. We were in spot one and it was very spacious and beautiful quick walk to the bathroom. And a lovely walk down to the creek Overall we had such an amazing time. We ran firewood that we brought, and it was great because we were able to purchase bundles at kiosk. ! We would absolutely love to come again!

My boyfriend and I had a great time at Mike’s campsite. We were fortunate enough to have the entire place to ourselves. It was the perfect getaway and not too far from a small little town. We caught a bunch of crawfish in the creek just steps away. The bathrooms were clean and right next to our site which was nice. We would definitely stay here again!

Mikes campground was a lot of fun! Kids and the dog all had a great time playing in the river. The camp sites were spacious and well kept. Very relaxing atmosphere. This has been my second stay here and I will certainly be back.

My group of 23 + 2 small dogs had the perfect amount of room- we had 8 large tents and 6 vans/ trucks. The creek was fun to explore and safe for the kids, we spent a lot of time there. It was SO nice to have picnic tables, huge fire pits, a covered area (we randomly got rained on one morning) and the sink + propane stove were AWESOME. It was also convenient to have the porta potties close, and luckily they weren’t smelly.

This area is lush with ferns and beautiful mossy trees! However, we were there on a busy holiday weekend and although the sites are large enough, they are very close together. We could smell cigarette smoke from our neighbors, hear their bickering, as well as constant screaming of parents for their missing children. Not sure this is really a family-friendly hipcamp as the sites were also close to the road for incoming traffic, which sped through far too quickly for a campground. There were also 7 large rusty nails in a fallen tree near the creek area, and our campsite was littered with trash--old stickers, false fingernails, bits of plastic, and bushes full of piles of toilet paper from previous campers' bathroom trips. Speaking of which, the outhouse supplied for the main campers was nearly overflowing so we had to use the group sites' outhouses. Never did see the host in our four days there. Maybe it was an off weekend due to the holiday.

Everything was great but I would recommend the gravel road going down be reviewed for problematic drop-off on a short stretch, going around a sharp turn. But everything else was awesome.

This is such a beautiful property not far from Estacada. The creek is a perfect place to spend a hot day. The host is very responsive if you need anything. My family will definitely be back next camping season.

Lush forest with moss-covered trees and huge ferns is attractive. More campers than I anticipated - given the name (Zen), I found it less tranquil than I was looking for. But camping with a big group of friends, like the site next to us, would surely be great.

We had a great time camping at Zen Acres! The sites are big and well spaced so we had plenty of room and privacy. The creek is lovely and fun to play in. The porta potty was clean. Mike checked in on us twice and was very welcoming. This is my second time camping here and will definitely come again!

We were so happy to find this site for our annual group camp out. Proximity to the creek was perfect (saw a red legged frog, a pacific jumping mouse and a kingfisher). The shelter was so nice for a random summer thunderstorm. Mike was very helpful and communicative.

We stayed at campsite 7 and had a wonderful experience! Mike, the host, was super from the get go. He responded quickly to messages before I booked and was very accommodating to our group. When we were there, he checked in on us to make sure we were all doing well! One in our group opted for the yurt add-on and it was set up and waiting for her when we got there (and was really large!). We enjoyed walking to the river/creek and playing in the water. It was a great place. I highly recommend!

A wonderful campground with a beautiful creek to explore. We stayed 2 nights for my daughters' birthday party and really enjoyed ourselves.
Note on the access road: it's rocky and steep. We were able to get up pulling our trailer w/out issue, but it was a bit daunting at first.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Zen Acres! This site was close to the water and was big enough for 3 tents for our 7 guests. It was surrounded by forest and was a truly peaceful camping trip. Mike was accommodating and pleasant to talk to.
