Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance. We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Good sized, nonelectric site along the back stream at the back of the campground, furthest from road noise. Gravel parking spot but but other areas can be a little muddy. Because of this we have built a 12'x16' wooden platform for you to pitch your tent on. Popular for small/medium size tents, or vehicle based accommodations.

It is a nice place for tent camping but not for trailers...I did like the property with running brooks...bath houses were fine for me but not everyone would say the same...no dump station...

As first time visitors, we absolutely LOVED our stay at Bald Eagle Campsite. We stayed at site 24 and it was perfect. Directly adjacent to the creek, lots of tree cover, and plenty of space. The site shares an area with site 23, but we did not have any neighbors staying at the time. Definitely best to book the two sites together if you prefer privacy. The site itself is nestled away from the camp road and other sites which is unique to site 24 and 23 compared to the rest. As for the amenities, we didn't spend much time in the rec hall, but it had a ping pong table, pool table, and it looked fun. The bathrooms were clean and the water was hot. Snappy's gas station is also a stone's throw away and has great food. Really can't say enough good things about this gem of a campground. 5 stars.

Site 26 - Bald Eagle Campsite

We chose site 25 because the map made it seem secluded and the furthest from other campsites. On arrival the map was not accurate at all. We were directly next to site 26. Linda was extremely kind and when we arrived site 25 was flooded so she moved us to site 26 which was right next to it. We were surrounded by campsites. No privacy what so ever. The only thing that somewhat helped was that we got lucky to be next to a flooded site but everything was so small and cramped. We even walked around the campsite and other sites seemed just as crowded and surrounded. Linda was extremely nice and thoughtful and goes out of her way to try and make it a great campsite. She was great to talk to and eveything was clean and nice but we left after the first night because of the campsites being too close. If you’re looking for secluded camping this is not the place you want to go. If you enjoy having neighbors on every side of you just feet away then you may enjoy it here.

Tent camping here was such a joy! The space was clean and easily accessible which made set up a breeze. We were able to use the facilities and wood provided with ease and they really do think of everything! I look forward to returning with friends and family.

We booked this place last minute on Memorial weekend. They accommodated us quickly and had great communication. We showed up and were checked in and showed how to get to our site. Site 8 was great. In between 2 streams and more secluded than some of the other sites. We had a great time fishing and relaxing and hanging out. We will definitely be back!

We loved site 7. It was super private and loved being right next to the stream. It was just the right size for the two of us and our dog (anymore people would have felt crowded). The loop around the campground was perfect for a quick dog walk. The bathrooms were clean. Played some pool and ping pong in the rec room which was fun. Overall, great campsite if you’re looking to get away from the crowds.

We booked this site on a whim after deciding to go camping last minute for Memorial Day weekend. Linda and Janet are the kindest hosts! We were greeted upon around arrival, given a lay of the land, and directed to our campsite. She had lots of wonderful information to share. The vegetation is thick, which made our campsite feel private and well shaded. The bathhouse was VERY clean and well stocked. Overall this is such a gorgeous campground with a beautiful stream rolling through it and beautiful foliage. There are some gorgeous sites along the stream. The only downside is that the road noise is a little much, but it did quiet down in the late evenings and early morning - we were able to listen to the stream while inside our tent..DREAMY! This was a bit of a hike for us, about a 4 hour drive from home, so I doubt we’ll return, but I’m so glad we camped here. Linda and Janet are great hosts!

The Bald Eagle Campsite was awesome! I got in really late at night, so I appreciated the light up sign that told me I was in the right place (plus Linda & Janet had great communication with good directions. It was absolutely lovely to fall asleep listening to the sound of the creek. Like others mentioned, there is road noise but like the host mentioned - the further campsites provide a bit of an oasis from that. I didn't find it to be an issue. The bathrooms were clean, and the hot shower was glorious! Especially after camping for a few days sans shower. While I didn't use the rec room on this trip, I thought it was a nice touch. They had firewood for sale ($5/bundle), which is a great deal! My dog and I had a great day/night here, and absolutely would book again!

David was super helpful with our questions about the campground and the amenities. The site was phenomenal, despite the heavy rain. The bathrooms were clean. The showers were warm. I’ve already booked the site again.

My party stayed at site 5. We loved the creek and also being right next to the bridge! We also had a very short walk to the bathrooms. If you stay at site 5 I would recommend a tent size like no bigger than 12x12, if that. We had a 15x15 round tent and still had room, but not much. In addition, we were able to bring 2 cars but at this site they were a tight fit. The women’s bathroom had extremely small stalls and there are 2 single stalls for the mens bathroom. There is also a hose to wash dishes, and a game room with a pool table and a ping pong table, which I wasn’t aware of until we got there. Definitely loved this campsite and will be returning!

Beautiful location with excellent camp sites. level and soft ground for pitching the tent. Firewood is very well priced and kept dry. Bathrooms were very clean. Owners were awesome and made us feel at home. We will definitely be back.

We were greeted even as came in on a Friday night at 7pm and were shown our tent site (site 21). Everything was so dreamy - you’re right next to the creek, which flows around the campground, and there’s trees on both sides of the site so you have privacy. I cannot wait until the next time we can make it back out!

Site 30 - Bald Eagle Campsite

Beautiful fir trees and lots of room. It was a great place for a peaceful campfire. Janet and Linda were very engaging. We loved the water features. Traffic sounds were noticed. We were grateful to find a park open in April. Hope to be back next year.

Site 30 - Bald Eagle Campsite

We rented out camp site 30 which is the closest one to the main road which was a little loud but that was expected as the previous reviews. It did have electricity which was nice and it was the closest spot to the bathroom and it had a nice creek that flowed by. The had firewood there for $5 for 7 pieces and the electricity was $10 a night. Very nice and convenient.
