Fern Gully Campsite #1
EVERYTHING about Fern Gully is PERFECT... except maybe a few short portions of the road getting in! But don't forget, it could always be worse! We truly managed just fine by going nice and slow! :) Josh was fabulous to deal with from beginning to end! Very responsive and kind! The instructions and the locked gate getting in - easy peasy! The gravel parking area for our small camper was level and easy to navigate! The hook-ups worked perfectly! The fire pit and surrounding picnic tables, etc. couldn't have been better! But the woods! OMG the WOODS! They were MAGICAL! It was like being surrounded by an enchanted forest full of happiness! No matter which way you looked, you were in awe of the natural beauty! It was honestly a 360 degree view of the most gorgeous setting you could ever ask for! We had rain almost the entire time we were there, but it didn't even phase us due to the stunning property we were on! I felt so lucky to be able to be there! I have to say it was the BEST place we have camped since upgrading from a tent to a camper many many years ago! It felt like tent camping, we were alone in the forest and got to experience all the sounds and feels (not a single noise from a vehicle the entire time!!), but we had all the amenities of our camper! Again, PERFECT!! We can't wait to go back to Fern Gully! Thank you for sharing your picturesque land with us to enjoy, Josh!! We are Forever Grateful!

This was our second time at Fern Gully. Private and stunning. The forest looks like it goes on forever. If you want a quiet paradise with the only sounds being the wind and birds(plus the occasional turkey), this is the campsite for you.

We love staying at this location.it is close to clear creek state park and cooks forest.The campsite is level with stone down,it has electric and good well water.The site is surrounded by the forest and is still far enough away from the crowds of people.The owners are very easy to deal with and we have never had to call them for any issues at the site. LUV It.❤️

This is my husbands new favorite site! lol 😂
This place was amazing if you want some time to just unwind and be at peace! The woods were beautiful and relaxing. Our 2 year old grandson loved having the freedom to ride his bike, play in the woods and use his Tonka dump truck to pick up sticks! lol
The site was level and large enough to fit both our large travel trailers. The road in was rough but putting the truck in 4 wheel drive and letting it crawl and take it slow was all we needed to do. Josh was also very receptive to some feedback we offered on improvements for the dump site. We will definitely look to book this again. Thank you Josh - we loved our stay!

We had a great time tent camping here! It’s a beautiful, remote patch of land. We saw lots of deer and the brightest moon we’ve ever seen. It’s quite a bumpy road to get to the site but we took our time with our little car and made it there just fine. Definitely recommend!

We had to cancel due to a family emergency at the last minute. Josh was very understanding and empathetic. We are looking forward to rebooking his site in the next couple of weeks when our crisis is behind us.

We love staying at the clear creek property. Very private but still close to the clarion river, clear creek/cooks forest area. The property is level and gravel for your trailer or motorhome to sit., the water is good tasting with lots of pressure and you have electric hookups. The woods are beautiful surroundings the campsites, great for hiking. Very nice property. Private.

I didn’t get pictures because, well, it’s camping! The spot was easy to find but far enough away that you had so much privacy. It’s a beautiful wooded area and a definite place to camp in the fall. I have 2 kids that would be hard to go in the summer as they require activities at their age but they both absolutely loved this place and we will be returning. If we do a trip to go tubing on the river, this will be our spot. The road back was a bit rough but only a portion. Lots of room for relaxation and for dogs to wear themselves out!

Second time we have stayed here in 2024. We will be repeat visitors. The fire pit was updated since we last visited, and there were more picnic tables. It’s still a beautiful piece of land, no issue with the water or electric hookups. Josh is an excellent host and easy to communicate with.

Another great trip to Josh’s place!
If you have doggos that like to sniff and run, this is the place!
But Make sure you check your furry friends for ticks, we pulled a few off of our dogs every night.
My husband used the Public land for hunting and I enjoyed the beautiful colors of the trees.
We love this place and will hopefully be back next year for year 3.

It felt like being in a peaceful enchanted forest. It was really beautiful and relaxing. We had everything we needed at this site and we relaxed in peace the whole weekend.
It was nice that the site was so tucked away and private, but also surrounded by a cute little forest-y community, so we felt pretty safe. Right up the street is a super cute camp store (for the campground across the way) that was very welcoming and had anything you could need, as well as a cleanout station we were able to use.
P.S. I highly recommend that you not arrive after dark. We got thoroughly lost and confused because of this 😂 Our GPS did not take us directly to the site (it was off by quite a long shot,) we had no service, and you really can’t see a thing out there in the dark. We likely would have been far less confused if it was still light out though. Some nice neighbors saw us struggling and came out and helped direct us.

Josh’s land was very secluded and it truly did feel like you were the only people in the world there. Woods all around you. Very sort drive to multiple attractions. We unfortunately could only stay 1 out of the 3 nights we had planned for so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it for long but Josh offered to refund us our money without even having to ask which was very generous of him. We will make it back next year.

Paradise! Very secluded and private. Great place to get away from it all. The forest around the campsite was beautiful. The site was so quiet. We came to fish the Clarion and had great success chasing small mouth bass.
Highly recommend taking the second entrance to Elk Rd. The road is very rough but doable in our van. We just went super slow.

The campsite area itself was nice. Very flat, lots of privacy. It was just as described. Our only concern was the road to get to the site, it is super rough, it’s a gravel road that’s been severely washed. We have a class A RV and I was concerned about blowing a tire in the ruts.

My husband and I loved our camping trip, this spot is very secluded and peaceful, just what we needed. If you are looking for a spot to reconnect with family/friends or nature, this is the place! We felt like we were completely separated from the rest of the world. Loved the beautiful property and surrounding areas. We aren't the campers that enjoy being in a large campground, if you're the same, this is a must visit! We'd love to come back next year and stay for a week! Thank you Josh for sharing your place!

Wonderfully remote site with locked gate. You are there alone which is nice! Gorgeous! Nice fire ring and table, water and 50Amp! The creek isn’t at the site like the picture…just be aware of that.

The site is conveniently located to Cook Forest attractions, yet the site was secluded and private. The information given ahead of time made getting into the site seamless. The information was accurate about the road to the site being washed out. Take your time on this part. The site is large with lots of space to park. The site has 50 amp electric and water which was a bonus. We will definitely return to this site in the future for a quiet retreat.

My husband and I absolutely loved staying at the Fern Gully campsite with our two dogs! It was nice and private with great views of the forest. Watch your step at night, lots of toads (we enjoyed them!) Would love to come back and definitely recommend to others.

Awesome site! Our group loved the quiet, vast area. We could do whatever we wanted without neighbors to worry about. Our dogs loved roaming the property. It was like our own private camp ground with electric and water! Thank you Josh! Will book again!

Josh provided our family the perfect place to reconnect with each other and our favorite place in this part of PA…Clear Creek State Park and Bear Town Rocks (less than 5 miles)! The area was private and quiet, lots of fire flies and many cute critters about. When we were at the campsite, it felt like the rest of the world melted away, leaving this peaceful paradise for us to enjoy! Even the dogs had a great time!
We have a 47’ 5th wheel and there was plenty of room for us and 2 vehicles, with room for a whole other RV!!
We will likely make this our rendezvous location next time we decide to get together again!

It was very private here. Quiet too! The fact that there is water and electric is definitely an added bonus that we truly appreciated. The gravel and size of parking was great. Josh is also a very responsive host. We have a Class A 28 ft motorhome so the road was a little bit of a challenge but we made it just fine. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for privacy, woods, and hook up abilities.
