Loved the commons areas with the fire pit, outdoor seating, tap room. Laundry and bathroom facilities were very nice. Owners were very welcoming.

This spot is fantastic & we will be return customers - gorgeous views, well-kept property, great RV site (not private), spacious & very clean washrooms with showers, laundry, a lovely pavilion with comfy furniture, games & bbq’s for use by all guests, & a community fire pit lit nightly where you meet lots of other travellers, & of course their tasty taproom offering some great drinks & yummy pizza (where you meet more great folks). The owners, Justin & Ashley (& their adorable boys), & the property caretakers are personable & caring, making sure you have everything you need. You can hike right from the property. This resort is easy to get to, sits right on Hwy 16, a little road noise during the day but quiets right down by evening. If you’re here during Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, expect more road rumble. The resort offers a house, cabins & rooms too, so it’s a great place to meet up with friends who can stay in their own digs if needed. The location in the Black Hills is fantastic, easy drive to Hill City for restaurants & groceries. The area offers stunning roads (fantastic motorcycling) & is centrally located to easily get to Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Keystone, Badlands, Needles Highway, Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Lead & much more! We’re already planning our return & highly highly recommend! (we considered that by leaving a great review may make it harder for us to get in next time!)

A beautiful campground! The grounds were very well kept. Most campers were large and self contained, but mine is not so the facilities were a nice added bonus. They were also very clean. The community area is super cute!

Hello to all. Black Elk Resort is an awesome establishment and the owner Justin is as nice a cordial as can be. Very clean upkeep is superb. Close to a lot of tourists attractions including Mount Rushmore Crazy Horse and others. Cool little Tap Room to have an after travels cocktail.

Super clean, well-maintained site. Even a pet area with can. Easy check-in. Met our hosts and family in the brewery - really nice people. Park is right on highway but noise wasn’t bad at night (we visited in off season). Great view of black elk peak.

Great Scenery! Loved the surrounding trees and privacy we had because we were the only ones here. Right off the road/ easy to get to / pull thru! Only Neg is the slight road noise because it is so close to the road- but hosts cannot do anything about that. They were VERY Welcoming!! We felt very safe and at home! Thank you!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Black Elk Resort! We stayed two nights in the off season before most places were open, and Justin & Ashley were incredibly welcoming and helpful.
The resort is central and convenient for the rest of the Black Hills.

A pristine property in an enviable location, ready to explore all the Black Hills has to offer. We absolutely loved our stay. Impeccable hosting from both Dan and Lora who were happy to leave us in peace at our pitch or be ready to share stories and given us excellent local advice over a beer in their taproom. Would absolutely recommend.

Such a sweet stay - wish we could have stayed longer. Bathrooms were perfect and easily accessible. Lora and Dan are so friendly and helpful. Dan tipped us off to an amazing dinner in town. Great spot!

Idyllic little resort , 15 min from mt Rushmore and 1:30 from badlands National park. Kid friendly - we loved the playground. Clean, comfortable bathrooms, full RV hookups if that's your thing. The cutest little taproom where we got to mingle with locals and other travelers alike. Hosts were so warm and friendly 10/10 recommend. Note: there is some highway noise as others have noted. Wasn't an issue for us, and couldn't hear it from inside our insulated sprinter. If you are noise sensitive and in a tent maybe this could be an issue.

The Black Elk resort was the perfect spot for our family of 4 in an RV. The grounds were pristine and Lora and Dan were so accommodating! The taproom and campfire added the best ambiance and relaxation. Can’t recommend it enough!

Black Elk Resort is one of the best RV parks I have ever stayed at! Lora and Dan Roth are welcoming, wonderful people. There is a taproom on site where you can grab a beer and chat with other travelers. It is super clean and well maintained, don’t stay anywhere else!

The place was extremely clean, the owners, very friendly, and yes, there were lots of rules, but we like rules. Our only reason for considering an alternative place is because we have a dog. There really wasn’t any place to walk our dog.

I’ve been hipcamping for awhile and this campground is by far the best I’ve ever stayed. The owners are the nicest people. The campground was beautiful and well maintained. They were very concerned that everything was just right. The Taproom and nightly bonfire Just added to the overall experience. I really don’t see how anyone could complain about their stay here. As you tell I highly recommend this stop in your travels

The location is gorgeous. Bathrooms and showers were great! The best part was the most stunning rainbow we saw while enjoying a beer in the tap room. Hands down the brightest one I’ve ever seen!

We really enjoyed our night at Black Elk. We stayed with a 14” travel trailer - hookups were perfect, bathroom was neat & clean and our daughter was thrilled to have a swingset. Hosts are gracious and being able to sit on the patio with a drink was great! We were 15 minutes from Mt Rushmore so drove over for the lighting ceremony. A great spot!
