The Ultimate Camping

This is a beautiful glamping spot. I loved the tents and the privacy each pad has. I think I was alone for the two nights. So quiet and the river sound made it so peaceful to sleep. Comfy bed, a little cold at night but it had blankets. It was a little bit unmaintained, kitchen was messy and I the shower wasn't working, maybe because it's not high season anymore. I talked to the host and she was helpful and send someone so quickly to help me, she fixed the shower and even gave me a tank of gas and a cook top to have a warm dinner. Really nice solved. Thank you! I would definitely recommend the experience if you're an outdoorsy person.

Don't stay here

Site was dirty, trash everywhere, trash spilling out of the unlocked trash can (isn't this bear country?), bathrooms were 2 porta-johns that could use a cleaning, I didn't see the shower area, our tent had clothes and luggage on the beds and trash everywhere else, we thought maybe we had the wrong tent so we looked around and some of the other tents were wide open and smelled weird. The host didn't respond to our question so we called and left a message. I still haven't heard back. Sent to Hipcamp support team for a refund.

Great camping+. Not glamping imo

When we showed up, the zipper on site 2 was split and wouldnt zip shut. As we were concerned about bugs, we contacted the host at the house next door and they luckily had other openings. We had noticed that the rounded tents at another site also had broken zippers so we requested site 6, with the tall straight zipper. While this tent had less ventilation and windows, it was a cool night and it ended up working out great. Not a single bug ended up in our tent. Contacting the owner by phone was a little difficult but when we knocked she answered. The site was not ready at check in time, but we just went to the beach until the evening. Once we came back, it was clean and had fresh smelling blankets and pillows. The big kitchen looked very handy but the site area itself seemed a little sparce. We spent most time elsewhere but if we stayed in the site much, we wohld have wanted our own chairs. Some sites seemed to have string lights set up but ours did not? The porta potties were SUPER CLEAN. Very nice. We paid for 2 nights but ended up only staying one because there was so much to see on the peninsula!

Oh man, not sure where to start. It's in a nice location. The area is beautiful and secluded. But the camp itself is a total dump. Looks like they put effort into setting everything up many, many years ago but let it sit and rot since. Indoor furniture at various sites is nasty. Sites not clearly marked; the numbers are on buoys but some are faded and it's hard to tell which number is for which tent. The play area looks cute but I wouldn't let my kids play there. There is part of an old playset that's broken and tattered and has large rusty nails sticking out the sides. Porta John's can be smelled from the other side of the camp. I was unable to stay in the site I booked due to host double booking on a second platform. I was directed via email to choose from 2 other sites. Both sites were mediocre (that's being generous) and both tents were open upon arriving. I called the host and she said she would look into it and call me back. I never got a call back! I went ahead and chose what appeared to be the better of the two sites and tried to suppress my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the camp as a whole. The tent was full of bugs! There were at least a dozen mosquitoes, a neat looking beetle, some big weird flying bugs, and a TON of spiders. My kids and I killed 6 spiders (and lost 2) before we threw in the towel and packed up an hour and a half after arriving. I messaged the host (more than once) but didn't get a response. I do not recommend this place at all.

the glamping tents was a unique and yet rustic way to camp the beds were very comfortable and had plenty of blankets to keep warm the only down side we had was when there was no toilet paper in the outhouse but they did get some restocked asap

We were most satisfied with the location, the layout of the glamping sites and the sense of privacy we had. The Porta toilets were cleaner to some of the restrooms we'd been in along the way. The thing we took issue with concerned the bed. The first thing that we noticed was the lack of cleanliness in the bedding. There was clear evidence of hair and dirt from the previous campers. We removed their bedding and used our own. Secondly, the center support was undoubtedly broken. There was a dip in the center and you had to really work at not rolling to the center. All of the amenities were great, but my suggestion to the owners would be to work on the obvious. When what you're sleeping on for two nights is less than acceptable, the rest doesn't matter.

Great stay!

I loved camping here! We rented a tent originally, but when I asked if we could add two extra guests they moved us to a site that had two huge yurts with more than enough beds. The tents were very clean and roomy! The sites had a lot of room and privacy. Each site had a picnic table, a fire pit, and multiple chairs & benches around the fire. The outdoor shower was hot & refreshing. We brought our own camping stove and dishes so we didn't use the shared kitchen but I did peak in and it had every kind of cooking appliance you could ever want. The host was quick to respond and very accommodating! They offered to come help us with the shower/water pump/anything we weren't sure how to use. They even brought us wood & ice at 11:30 pm when we returned to the site because everywhere in town was out. Unbelievable hospitality! You can't beat the location. Tons of shade from the trees. The river sounds in the background were so nice all weekend. It was fun to take a dip in to cool off on the hottest day. The campground is only 10 mins from first, second, and Rialto Beach, which we frequented while there. It was about an hour from Hoh Rain Forest, and an hour from Port Angeles where you can take a bus to Hurricane Ridge, and Lake Crescent is on the way, so you can hit that up too! Overall wonderful experience. We would definitely stay here again!

Great relaxing stay

We had a great time and loved this tent so much. The beds were extremely comfortable, everything was clean and in working order, and the campground was very quiet wide from the wonderful sound of the river flowing through the back. It was a perfect respite after spending 2 weeks using our regular tiny tents. Mechelle is extremely helpful and sweet. She gave us some tuna that she hand canned herself and when she saw my friend painting on canvas she gave her an old wooden buoy to keep and paint. We also extended our stay by 3 days because we enjoyed the tent so much and Mechelle was nice enough to juggle around a guest so that we could keep the same tent the whole time. If I'm ever in Forks again, I know where I'll be staying!

I loved this spot. The tent was clean and dry, even had a little propane powered heater ( we didn’t need it, but nice to have in case it got chilly) each site had a great amount of space. Listening to the river while falling asleep was magical. Great area for campfire sitting, nice that there were stumps to sit on too.

Felt Pretty Dirty, But Not Terrible

I’m not typically picky when it comes to rentals like this, especially for the price and considering we were camping, but it felt like this site lacked an overall cleanliness that could’ve made us our experience more comfortable. When we arrived to Site Three, the first thing we noticed was that the zipper for the entrance to the tent wasn’t completely closed. Once we entered, we saw that the furniture and the ground on the inside were a bit dirty, something a quick sweep or so could’ve solved. Then, as we were preparing for bed, we noticed spiderwebs in the top of the tent along with a quarter-sized spider - enough webbing that it felt like it had been there for a while. The amount of dirt, debris, and spiderwebs made the rental feel as though nobody kept up with it or even did a walkthrough before we arrived. It also made us question the cleanliness of the provided bedding and furniture (which didn’t necessarily smell nasty but didn’t smell fresh or clean, either). We stayed and were fine, but our previous experiences in similar campsites were much cleaner and felt as though they were kept up with, and this one did not.

Had a fantastic time here by the river. Very beautiful spot. Quirky items all around - so fun to explore. The river is calming. Mechele is very friendly and helped us a lot. Definitely recommend staying here if you are curious and would like to explore. One thing to read that we did not know about - this area is described in the Twilight books - and believe us - there are many cool magical things that are happening around the beaches / forests. Feels very safe though :P

Warm and dry but musty sheets

We had a good experience, we arrived after dark and the host had sent a message explaining we would be in site 4 instead of site 1 but there were multiple tents and we were confused which tent was meant for us. The hosts came out after I messaged about being confused and brought a new propane tank for the heater which was great. We really liked that there was a couch inside the tent, it was raining so we stayed inside all night. One bed was comfortable but the sheets smelled a bit musty. The other bed we didn't use but it had several broken springs. I really liked that the heater also had a cooktop we were able to perculate our coffee inside the tent which was great but in the morning I went to use the portapotty and a big St. Bernard dog approached me and apparently went into the tent with another dog. My husband had to wrestle them out of the tent and was upset about it. We never knew if they were dogs of another camper or lived on the property but they were annoying. Overall it was a fine camping experience with a warm and dry place to sleep, but rogue dogs and musty sheets made it less than perfect.

Poorly Maintained and Unsecured

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Site Three and while normally I like to go-with-the flow, I feel the need to leave a bad review for the first time. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the campsite was not maintained properly. The overall cleanliness left much to be desired, with litter scattered around and a general lack of attention to hygiene. The facilities were far from advertised, the entire place had a bit of an abandoned feeling. Site 3 was a mess. Dirty dishes and trash from previous residents were left behind and it was clear the sheets have never been washed. Our host asked if we wanted to move to site 2 through the app and we did, setting up. The floor of Site 2 was damp, but we set up in the dark and managed to sleep. We woke up to find the 2 site dogs poking their heads through a hole in the back wall, on further inspection, we had not noticed a long slash in the wall of the tent when we arrived in the dark. Rain had come in at night, and dampened some of our belongings. More concerning, was that the wall had been open to wildlife through the whole night. When we checked, this hole had been poorly taped over some time ago with clear packing tape and then left. The disregard for cleanliness, false advertising of amenities, and the compromised nature of the site left us with a negative impression. I strongly advise against considering this campsite for anyone thinking about choosing this site in Forks.

I wasn't going to mention that I found clothing from prior campers in our tent. I wasn't going to mention that the camp owners dogs, in addition to begging regularly, attacked the small dog that was on leash in our camp. I wasn't going to mention that the camp owners dogs tore the trash bags at our campsite which caused a large mess. I wasn't going to mention that our trash was never removed in the four days we were on site. I wasn't going to mention that the toilets were forming mountains of poop erupting from the tranquil urine sea like new volcanic islands. However, my lack of enthusiasm for writing this review all changed when some obese man-child who appeared pretty chummy with the owners accosted my daughter about the trash around our campsite. The same trash and mess that the owner's dogs had created. When I approached this Danny Devito cosplaying as Carl Brutananadilewski lookin' dude about talking to a young child instead of one of the men in our group he got super aggressive and threatening about the situation: he was clearly triggered. It was odd, but a woman with him encouraged an ending to our party and I obliged. It's not wise to fight a drunk baboon before noon, or so I've been told. I didn't want to write this, but people travelling with families and children should be aware that there are dogs and an aesthetically handicapped baboon nearby that could disrupt your stay. The river was pretty nice.

Site Six

If you go really prepared with all your stuff and just expect a place to sleep it’s fine. There are only 2 or 3 outhouses on the whole site and they were really full which is pretty yucky. Also would be nice if there were places on the river bank to sit. The tent and bedding were clean and warm enough. One of the mattresses was super springy and not comfortable. A place to wash dishes would be really helpful, just a rudimentary sink with a faucet even.

This was a great little camping spot! Just about everything you need is provided! We were a large party so the host moved us to site 4 which has two tent yurts. There was clean beds with bedding and pillows. Was perfect glamping! They provided a fire pit, propane and 3 burner stove. Some sites I saw camping ovens. Bathroom was two porta potties, they were fine (it’s camping). Showers were cool, open outdoors shower hooked to propane, couldn’t get hot water to work though. Still good, use to camping with no showers. Was awesome not needing to pack so much! Kids loves the playground and bouncy house.

I appreciate the fact that there was no time limit to come into site, because I came in late. I love the River sounds and the company your pups provide throughout my stay. It was quiet and clean. With quick response times to questions I had about how to operate shower. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you

Great location and simplicity. There were more campsites then I expected but we were spread out enough that you don’t really even notice. We only stayed one night and didn’t get a chance to use any of the amenities.

Really Wanted To Love It, But Mold

Unfortunately our site, Site 1, had a significant amount of mold on the inside and on the outside of both tents. We had to cut our trip short and leave 2 days early as our daughter has asthma and the mold was starting to effect her lungs. There appeared to be newer, possibly mold-free tents in a couple of the other sites, but ours unfortunately was not one of them. The beds would have been much more comfortable had they not been sitting on a couple of 2x4's suspended on cinderblocks. Had there been a traditional box spring or even a sheet of plywood underneath the mattress, there would be much more support and much less sagging. All in all, the camp has some great potential to be an adorable escape close to the Coast, but there just needs to be a few minor changes made to improve upon their ideas. I really wanted to love this place for it's quirky décor, nice staff and adorable dogs, but the mold and the beds killed it for us sadly.

Site 2

The area is quite nice with a play area and is well set up between camps. The beds and bedding were clean and very comfortable. The tent was in ragged shape including having no zipper to secure the space. The first night two dogs and a man entered our tent. The man said we were in his site and I told him to get out; he did. The kitchen space was unusable with mold in dishes/pots and rancid water in pots. The garbage was full upon arrival and was never emptie resulting in animals spread garbage throughout the area both nights. There is a general lack of care, which if improved, would make this place wonderful and relaxing space.

Perfect site for camping with dogs

Having camped once in the last 20 years, I was a little apprehensive about “roughing it” but our experience (at Site 3) was comfortable — the roughest part was leaving with only *our* dogs, because we wanted to take Mechelle’s incredibly sweet dogs home with us as well. It’s a beautiful location, and the stargazing is spectacular on a clear night. We’d absolutely return!

The place could use some tlc. Lots of great amenities available but our yurt fabric was very moldy and we ended up finding alternative arrangements for our second night.

The tent was not closed. It was left open and there were bugs (big spider too) inside the tent. Me and my wife slept in car the whole night. Our friend slept inside tent and he got rashes all over his body. I even have a picture of his rashes in neck! Place was good but I would not recommend anyone to stay there. Worst experience ever.
