When you first arrive at Camp Saguaro, you see a property that is tended to and lovingly maintained by the owner operators Kim and Michelle. We stayed at The Adobe for a couple nights and had an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay. The attention to detail was evident throughout our room and the property. You can tell they are always trying to think of special little details to make the guests feel relaxed and welcomed. We will be back again! Thanks

Kareva is an incredible host! She was extremely friendly and kind to myself and my two children, and allowed them to help her feed and groom some of the animals on the property. Speaking of which, my children loved how friendly the donkeys and pigs and goats were. And Kassandra - the RV we stayed in - was clean, spacious and well accommodated. We look forward to being able come back and to stay again!

This is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The animals are so friendly, and the host goes out of her way to be accommodating and kind. My teenage boys loved the animals and looked forward to seeing them every day. My kids usually want to sleep in, but they were motivated to get up if I told them the animals were out! The house itself is really cute and comfortable, and the location is less than five minutes from the interstate.

Full size wood bed for your air mattress, camp pad, etc. Bring you own and bring your sleeping bags or other bedding.

This was by far my favorite hip camp I’ve stayed at! Karla was so kind and helpful for anything we needed. I went with a good friend and we both felt so safe staying here. Karla also accommodated great when we had to leave early and when we were getting back to her place late. We are 100% going back!

1 night at Camp Saguaro

Camp Saguaro is full of funky, arty charm. I loved the Adobe House and marveled at all of it's unique qualities, from the pieces of ceramic in the window sill to the decorative mason jars near the ceiling full of dried flowers. Shower and very nice flush toilets are nearby. I loved building a fire and watching the amazingly clear night sky while hearing coyotes in the distance. Note another site (an incredibly cool mushroom structure) is very close, so don't expect privacy when hanging out outside.

I loved staying here! It was so peaceful and conveniently located near Old Tucson and the Living Desert Museum (a favorite place to visit!). The facilities were clean! Happy to use warm showers, clean flushing toilets and have some space between sites! My daughter said she wanted to live there forever. Haha

Absolutely beautiful space very quiet and clean. Karla is a lovely host . I would recommend 10 out 10. The pool house was warm and clean and just a beautiful place to stay. The birds welcome you and the horses are beautiful. Amazing property.

Beautiful property. We stayed in the Adobe for a night. Definitely will visit again when I can visit several nights. Property is 3 to 5 miles from Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park. Old Tucson is very close as well. You have to give this place a try!

What a fun spot - well thought out spacing, amenities & decor. From hot showers, to flush toilets, sinks & mirrors, laundry facilities and a cute mercantile - this spot is a great find. Do yourself a favor and book it when you’re in the area. We didn’t need the adobe as we’re traveling in our van, but booked it as the last available spot. What a lovely little space that could be fun. A young family with kids was enjoying the magical mushroom next door. Plenty of space for everyone.

Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch

Welcome to Karla's Hummingbird Guest Ranch! All guests must be over the age of 18. My private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. I have 2 horses and lots of local birds hang out here. I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the cover. I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. There is a restroom/breakfast room off the pool area. This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff. I have WiFi and great cell service here. You must arrive by dark. My gates will be closed at dark. I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10. My place is 10 minutes from Coronado National Forest. The property is tranquil, peaceful, and quiet. You will see a lot of quail and other birds on the property. There are 2 varieties of quail who visit daily. Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Each tent, and/or a place where people sleep is a campsite....in other words you can't book 1 tent camping site and then add your friends who come in their vehicle and set up a campsite. That is 2 campsites. NOTE- The only bad review I have is from someone who booked one campsite then had her friends come during the night and take another site. I had the nerve to ask them to pay for that extra site. (they refused). My photos-At the end of my gallery are photos of "PROJECTS", things I've made. This is for the "PROJECTS" extra I offer because I can't add those photos there.

Camp Saguaro is nestled in a unique and rural area on the west side of Tucson, Arizona. With the Saguaro National Park Visitor Center, Tucson Mountain Park, and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum all within four miles, there is plenty of opportunity to explore the outdoors. Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park boast hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and non-motorized mountain bikes are permitted on the trails in Tucson Mountain Park. Let us be your base camp for desert exploration whether it's hiking, riding, birdwatching, and learning. Come to Camp Saguaro and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Our friendly hosts can help you plan a great day, some of them even have their Certified Tourism Amabssador credentials. Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around. What to expect: We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote. We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible. We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home." I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be. La Shata: Garden + Camper

Located in our backyard in midtown Tucson. Access through a keyless private entry into our rain gardens to the backyard, where you will find La Shata camper. Cozy indoor setting, and gorgeous outdoor space. The outdoor shower and composting toilet a few steps from the camper (compost toilet seat is low height). Stock tank pool, lounge chairs and a hammock to rest and chill. Indoor kitchen and sink with running water to cover all your basic culinary needs. Fresh eggs from our chickens and outdoor spaces to have a coffee and read a book. INSIDE LA SHATA: a full size bed, air conditioning, a fan and a small heater. A nice little stove with kitchen utensils in the drawers and cabinets. The oven doesn't work, there is a microwave, a mini fridge, a coffee maker and a water filter. THE BATHROOM inside La Shata is very small. ATTENTION: it is only for peeing, not for pooping and not for toilet paper either. The outdoor composting toilet works for pee, poop and toilet paper. Please note that the composting toilet is not a latrine, pee and poop are separated and that is why you will not smell anything. The toilet height is low. Consider this if you have knee problems or another condition. There is running water inside the camper, only cold water, and is good to drink, but recommend to use the filter located in the cabinet. We have another water source in the garden, the "lavadero", a washing board where you can wash your dishes, hands, clothes, etc. soaps available. THE POOL is covered to prevent debris build-up and to warm the water. To use it, simply remove the cover by pulling on the magnets located on the side of the pool. The water is cleaned daily using a pool pump and chlorine tablets. THE GARDEN: Feel free to explore the entire backyard, talk to the chickens, grab some eggs, read a book in the hammock. We try to give our guests privacy, but you may see us watering the plants or cleaning the composting toilet from time to time. ACCESS: Private entrance located on the left side of the main entrance of our home. The metal gate has a keypad. We will provide you with the code on the same day of your arrival. Parking is on the street in front of our property, please make sure you are not blocking any entrances from neighbors or us.
