Dan’s land exceeded our expectations. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a remote and serene getaway. I hesitate to leave my review for fear of this spot getting more popular and not being able to return in the future 😂 my dog loved running through the trails and patrolling the shore. We saw loons and other wildlife, took advantage of the kayaks, and admired the incredible view.

This site was so refreshing ! Even with a day of rain the bell tent stayed dry! Cozy beds and bedding when we showed up ! The brook was beautiful and my daughter had a blast fishing. Happy we brought a wagon to get our things to the tent (although there was a wagon available but others already had it). The bathroom was a bit of a walk at night but it was well worth the peace and quiet for a few nights !

The canvas tent was cozy with the wood stove, and the peaceful farm setting was perfect. The hosts were incredibly welcoming. Kids loved the horse riding with Sandi along with horse grooming and some fun facts about horses. The highlight for us was Tucker (the pet dog), he was so excited to see us and kids loved playing with him. Highly recommend!

I had a lovely weekend at the yurt. Even though it rained all weekend and I didn't get to enjoy the outdoors, the inside of the yurt was so nice we didn't care. comfortable bed. power but no running water and heat if you don't want to use the wood stove so it was just the right amount of rustic. theres a propane burner so you can cook inside and a sink with well water and a catch bucket. would recommend and would come back.

Weekend Trip to Maine Lakeside Hideaway - Otyokwa

Great spot. So quiet and restorative. We went on a rainy weekend knowing we would be hunkered down. We loved the sauna and the pond swimming. Sleeping cabins are very well appointed, as is the kitchen cabin. Very grateful to the folks who keep this place alive.

I had a Wonderful stay at Sandi and Brandon’s farm for a peaceful getaway. The view from the tent of the horses frolicking in the meadow and waking to the morning mist as the birds sang were highlights. Oh and 1 week old lambs…need I say more. They’ve done a lot of work to make sure the experience is perfect and it was. I’ll be back for sure.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Slippery Rock Cabin! John & Janet were extremely welcoming & informative, and the property was incredibly well maintained. We had a great canoe ride, rode our mountain bikes out to the pond and around the property, and our kids (3 & 4) enjoyed biking the fields and exploring. The tiny cabin was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed!

Loved our stay here! I was a little sad it was raining at first, but with the wood stove keeping us toasty, the cool solar fairy lights, the little library, and a few games provided, we had a super cozy night in listening to the rain fall outside, and the screened in porch was a great place to hang out too! We even got some tiny little tree frogs come for a visit, a sure sign that it's finally spring! Beautiful land, beautiful little cabin! Tucker was very helpful with giving us directions when we put the wrong address in our GPS and ended up stuck in the mud down what we thought was a dirt road. He even offered to bring his tractor to pull us out (we already had help on the way, though). Walking into the cabin with our pup Mabel made a stressful journey feel more like a fun little adventure and after changing out of our muddy clothes it was all just a funny story to tell. It was fun reading through guest book and the instruction booklet was very helpful. Be diligent about checking for ticks, a few hitched a ride on Mabel (to be expected this time of year) . Such a peaceful place! We'll be back!

Dancing Lawn

When we first purchased our property, we were made aware of a young fella needing a spot to set up his yurt. He lived with us for two years before moving along. We had enjoyed having him and his yurt on our land so when he left, It left a virtual and metaphorical hole. A couple years later we had an opportunity to purchase a yurt from an outdoor adventure company and so it began. We improved upon our tenant's idea by adding a proper outhouse and outdoor shower area. The space offered us a quiet haven during hectic times and now we are ready to share that opportunity. Our yurt sits on a quiet and private nook on our 7 acre property. We are right in between Kennebunk and Biddeford so there are quite a number of areas to explore if you make us your home base. It is a lovely 6 mile ride to Goose Rocks Beach or you can spend an afternoon walking around Dock's Square in Kennebunkport. Biddeford is a rapidly rebuilding mill town that has made several high profile food and travel publications for its great dining spots. If you are visiting to get away from the city, we are less than a mile away from the Eastern Trail which connects South Portland to Kittery, ME. Bring a bike or plan a quiet walk. Our cabin is an off grid post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

This wall tent is located 4 miles from the ferry terminal on North Haven. You will need transportation to the property. The ferry run three times a day and it can be an issue getting a vehicle on and off during the busy season. Walking on (or biking) and off the ferry is usually not an issue but there's no taxi service on the island. The wall tent is 12x14 with a full-sized bed, wood stove, fire pit, and an outhouse. Water is provided and there is also a spring nearby that is safe to drink. The tent sits on 100+ acres of beautiful woods and ponds that are free to explore. Dogs are welcome, there are 3 resident dogs, 2 collies that will greet you and a retired guardian dog that you may spy making her rounds. Also a couple of sheep, possibly pigs, and various fowl. Martha is always willing to give a tour of her farm garden. There are no official hiking trails on the property, lots of hiking trails on the island. North Haven is quiet and a friendly island, with lots of exploring and hiking available. Depending on the time of year there are several restaurants/bars open in town including; Calderwood, North Haven Brewing, Nebo Lodge, and The Landing. Turtle Marsh- secluded wooded site.

Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. This is the perfect opportunity to explore on a budget and test out your wilderness skills! The Adventure Begins Here... Camp Wild at Bobcat Rock is on 21 Acres of sloped, unspoiled woodland. There is a small brook that runs through the property and a seasonal run-off during heavy rain. There is a stone wall that borders the north end of the property. Land around the property is protected so there are many birds, ponds and streams. Hiking trails are right outside your door. Natural water sources do not have spigots. If you choose to use the natural water source for drinking, all water should be treated! This is a wilderness area. The TREE TENT is 13x 13 x 13 and sleeps 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. The tent is 4 feet off the ground. You will need to lift yourself into it. Please remove shoes before entering the tent. THERE ARE NO AMENITIES This is a dry campsite. There are no showers or toilets. There is an outhouse and a 5 gal PROPANE shower. (You will need a small canister of propane). 5 gallons of water is provided. There is a very large pot for boiling water if needed. There is a fire ring with a grill, a picnic table, 2 reclining camp chairs, a Gazebo, and a Tree Tent. A trolly is provided to carry your belongings as it is a short hike uphill to the site. No cooking or sleeping supplies are available. You must bring your own bedding, cooler, cooking utensils, wood and small propane canister. (We have sleeping bags if you forget your own and a spare mattress for the gazebo upon request). ***PLEASE LEAVE NO TRACE AND TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU*** It is recommended to arrive before dark on your first night of camping. Campsite check in from 12:00 pm on arrival day. Check out time 11:00 am on departure day. Bug spray is highly recommended. Bring a flashlight. The campsite is on a hill and is very rough, uneven ground and there are protruding rocks and tree roots. Please use caution when walking around the property.
