Maidu Park Campground

94% (27)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 4 · Vehicles under 7 m
*20 Campsites Available (up to 6 people at each site - asking for your honesty when booking # people) * You are responsible for your own trash and recycling - please keep in car to maintain the pristine state of the land and to keep away from wildlife *No loud parties please - we want to respect others around and the nature too *Campsites are first come, first serve - you choose your spot when you arrive *This is a very rustic, private Campground with 20 campsites. 7 of these campsites have water facets and fire pits and picnic tables. It's a first come first serve campground and you choose the one you wish. We are not set up for reservations yet. Sometimes when the campground starts to get full and people request a fire pit we begin to decline request unless you're okay with an area not having a fire pit, picnic table and water faucet. Meaning sometimes we stop with seven basic groups as 13 sites even though very beautiful and private but do not have a water source fire pit or picnic table. So let us know your preference and needs. The Maidu Park Campground is officially open for the very first time this summer. This has been years in the making and we are excited to finally welcome people into the magic of the forest here. This is a portal of wild nature nestled in the Sierra Nevadas—a place to hold a sense of both adventure and sanctuary, whether you’re a large group, a couple, family, friends, etc. We have a variety of camping spots to choose from amidst the forest, each with their own unique flavor of the land. This 200 acre land used to be home to the Madiu tribe. It is a rare gem of protected land that offers a sense of adventure and exploration as well as inner sanctuary and rejuvenation. Pitch your tent or tipi on our 200 acre wilderness eco-preserve, located 40 minutes from Nevada City, CA. The campground includes a 2 stall outhouse and hot showers. Our seasonal lake has canoes you can use free; the lake is usually full until May and then drains out until the following winter. We have miles of trails - many already posted on this developing eco-retreat center and Wilderness Preserve. There is privacy and seclusion. Seasonal creeks and ponds. We have two developed Springs - one offering clean spring water to our campers a quarter mile from the campground. We are but minutes from beautiful swimming on the Yuba River. Less than 2 mi away we have Bloody Run Creek which is famous for three waterfalls, one 20 ft tall with a small pool at its base. At 4,000 ft our Campground is without any poison oak or ticks; there are mosquitoes in early summer so insect repellent is recommended. This is mostly a forest type Campground with conifers and deciduous trees providing shade in summer they're all paths and there are individual campsites prepared it's best to park at the main entrance and walk around first before you drive to your chosen the campsite as there are many options
