Site 12 - Shady Cove
We loved how peaceful this spot was, even on a holiday weekend it didn’t feel crowded and each campsite feels nicely secluded away from other sites. The river was amazing, there are great swimming holes and places to wade.

Sawyer’s Bar Site 1 is a very special place, and we loved camping here. Before we arrived, I was not sure what to expect. The campsite area near the fire pit (which we could not use due to fire ban by mid-May) is mostly soft sand with occasional rocks, and there is a very short sandy path to the small beach by the group-access swimming hole—which is a calmer and less mucky area of the river that is perfect for children to play in and swim in. When the daytime highs get to high 80s low 90s, the water temperature is still pretty cold but one can get in for a quick dip and come back out to get warm on the sandy beach. There is a small area of shade at any time of day on the beach, but put on lots of sunscreen because it is easy to burn. On the other side of the sandy area of camp is a rocky path to explore that leads to little delightful creekside scenes. There are snakes around, so wear close toed shoes in this area, and if you venture into the grasses check for ticks (we saw both a snake and a tick). The night sky is amazing, and we saw shooting stars. It is hard for pictures to convey, but the portapotties truly were very clean, filled with blue chemicals that ensured there was no unpleasant smell, and equipped with seat covers and plenty of toilet paper. We brought drinking water in one big container and used a different container to fill with river water for hand washing. Final piece of advice: If you go into town for dinner, we would recommend Moonrise Pizza.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on Rachael’s land. Excellent signage made for no confusion as to where I was going. Shady enough with a couple perfect trees for my hammock. Swimming hole was quiet and the water was warm. My dog loved it.

Love, love, love! That about sums it up. Second year I a row taking the Suisun Valley 4-H camping project and staying in Rowan's Camp sites 6-10. Location is perfect! Right on the water with a great place to swim. And can't thank Tom enough for the time he spent teaching the kids gold panning. When we asked the kids what they'd change next year it was a resounding "nothing!" 💕

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this campsite! If you're looking for a peaceful, private spot to truly unplug and connect with nature, this is the place. The sites are spaced far enough apart that you feel like you have your own little corner of the wilderness, which was a huge plus for me. The best part? The easy access to the river! I spent hours splashing and playing, and it felt like a little piece of paradise.
The hosts were incredibly sweet and gracious, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They really thought of everything—when we checked in, we were given a map with clear instructions on where to find cell service spots (if needed) and where the bathrooms are located. It was comforting to know that we could check in with loved ones or take care of an emergency if necessary, but the beauty of the campsite made it easy to disconnect and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to escape, relax, and recharge. Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature, privacy, and the serenity of being by the water. Can’t wait to come back!

This site is a bit small for big family tents however has some shade. This site wasn't made for bad knees or handicapped people since the parking is farder up. There is a very nice clean porta potty thats shared with site 12 and you camp right next to the river. We use washable plates since you take the trash with you we try not to make to much trash, also the place is very dusty and all your belongings ( if you are in a truck) gets full of dust. Also be ready for lots and lots of spiders, there are spiders everywhere hanging and falling from the trees, they get in your tent and all over the place. So make sure no one is allergic to the bites or your dog. Little private place to hang out by the river and nature was the best. My advice is to stay 2 nights so you don't end up bit up by loading and uploading up in the little hill and download your music because there is absolutely no reception but the place have a designated wifi spot.

We really enjoyed our time here. We got site 13 and 12 Of course like every place has their pros and cons. Pros: spacious sites, next to the river, nature was amazing, dogs allowed, very safe, porta potty clean, you must stay 2 nights to enjoy everything.
Cons: spiders all sizes everywhere falling from the trees so keep your tents closed at all times, parking not too big, site 12 has 0 shade, very dusty so bring a broom to constantly cleaning inside the tent, definitely not for handicapped or bad leg people, you take your trash with you so we got washable plates, no potable water. But sometimes you have to change some things for others and I will go back for sure to this place but diferent site. Communication was good and very clear on what you can do and can't do. Make sure you download your music since there is 0 reception however there is a wifi spot but far away.

I booked both cabins for a surprise weekend birthday trip for my boyfriend and 10 of our friends. Four of us stayed in the two cabins and the rest camped down by the water. As soon as we arrived we knew we would have a great weekend. Beautiful swimming hole and an awesome grassy beach for lounging and camping. We spent our saturday swimming, paddling, playing games and cooking by the water. Truly idyllic and everyone agreed we would love to camp at this property again!

Easy directions, camping spot 18 just like in photo, clean river, enough shade from young growing trees so bring a shade up as it gets hot. What works: spotless of trash, clean Porto potty, different beach access points, property big enough to be far away from other groups but close enough if you need help. Great walking score, A+river rat score. Wonderful owner Tom who asked if we had any questions & handed a map of the campgrounds and explained the rules upon arrival.

Such a beautiful piece of land! We loved being right by a calm part of the river and had a wonderful time with our children playing in the water and sitting on the beach. This is our second time coming and we will be back again!

I LOVED the campsite! I had a bigger group (8 adults & 2 dogs) so I booked both site 19 & 20. It was a great amount of space for us! The area was secluded, porta potties were very clean, and there was easy river access to float or paddle board.

Wow! Remote and beautiful. Extremely well maintained with the cleanest port a potties ever. What an enjoyable and relaxing experience falling asleep to the sound of the river. The sites are big and pretty distanced from each other there is cell service clearly marked a short distance away. Loved it!

What a beautiful, remote, serene place to camp. A well designed and maintained spot, right by the river.which you can hear as you drift off to sleep. Our group stayed at sites #6, 7 and 8 in Rowan’s camp. You can’t see the river from site 6 but a 1 minute walk and you’re at the rivers edge. We camped under the shade of a majestic oak which was perfect for that afternoon nap. Rachael was great with communicating every question I had. We were greeted by Scott at the entrance and then we met Tom. Our whole group loved chatting with him every chance we had. What a great guy to meet, one of the most interesting and friendly people we’ve come across. It’s a beautiful 3 mile drive on a dirt road to get to the campsite looking out over rolling foothills lined with oaks and other trees. Great signage took us right to our site.

Very peaceful campsite! Right on the river between two swimming holes. Good distance between the campsites so it felt very private. 4 clean port-o-pots between the 6 campsites nearby. No shade at site 2, however we brought a shade tent which was great for the afternoon sun. Can’t beat the view of the river and hills beyond! Our pups loved the open area and exploring the shoreline. Had a great time and would definitely recommend. FYI we had to remove several ticks so be prepared with tick bug spray and make sure your pups are up to date!

Campsite and river was beautiful as advertised, and the hosts were super communicative. Sending an extra shout out to Tom who went above and beyond. He came out with a metal detector and found my lost wedding rings! I’m so grateful. Our group wants to book again next year. Thank you for a great weekend.

Site 14 is beautiful, little ridge right above the river. Took my 4 year camping for her first time there and she loved. She’s hooked on camping now. Bathroom was super clean and check in/directions was super super easy.

Campsite 5 was beautiful. It was mostly flat sand with trees for shade during the day. There was a fire pit, and the host informed us whether we were allowed to make a campfire. Most campsites appear to have a 6 ft x 2.5 ft table with fixed bench seating, so that's a plus to minimize packing. Reception is mostly non-existent once at the campsite area, with some spots for patchy reception. There is cell reception at the Ranch entrance gate if you want to handle some last-minute logistics planning with other members of your party. If you arrive early with time to spare, I recommend hiking up the dirt road towards campsites 14-16 for an interesting find.

This was a truly amazing place. I almost don’t want to share it because I don’t want it become crowded! Everything about it was great the river, the views, the property to the Bay Area, and Rachael was super responsive on messaging. We already planned our next trip here.

This place was exactly what we were looking for. Peace, quiet and disconnect. We had site #19 which was right in front of the river. It was a bit covered by the shrubs but still enjoyable. Plenty of shade but an extra canopy wouldn't hurt. We did battle with mosquitoes and spiders but our enclosed netted canopy helped with that. Tom was wonderful when he came by to check in and also brought a bucket to put the fire out with water.
