The farm is located just outside the famous gold-mining towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City. Scott's Flat Lake and Rollins Lake are not too far away. The South Yuba River is a very popular destination during the warm months. This is a great launch spot for all of the outdoor activities for which Nevada County is famous.
Drinking water is available at the campsite. There is no dump site here. Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am.
The RV parking is easy access, unpaved ground. It is mostly level, but you may need to fine-tune the level of your RV. Tent camping is possible, but the site is rough, and there is no bathroom The spot is near a lightly-traveled road, and sometimes tractors or other work vehicles pass by. Having said that, it is quiet most of the time, especially at night.
We have alpacas that are fenced off from the camping area, and are not intrusive or loud. They do make a mild squealing sound when they feel threatened. There are free-range chickens and roosters roaming around, although they usually don't go into the RV field area. The roosters crow, as roosters do, and will likely be the first thing you hear in the morning.
There is a pond on-site, which is not fenced and has no safety guards except the migrating Canadian geese. Swimming and fishing in the pond are not allowed.
Dogs and other pets are OK. If they are aggressive towards livestock, they will need to be on leash or controlled at all times. They will need to be kept from swimming in the pond, as there is some danger of getting trapped in submerged ropes.
