River Farm is a fantastic stop if you are cycling the Neuse River Trail and need an over night stay. We are a peaceful campsite located along the Greenway Trail 20 minutes from Downtown Raleigh and 10 minutes from Clayton. The farm offers private wooded meadows with direct access to the Greenway for walking and cycling. Campers can either rent a tent or bring their own, choosing between secluded spots, shaded areas, or open spaces. The campsite is accessible via a gravel farm track and is close to the Greenway, river, and main house for bathroom access. Nearby attractions include the Bailey Sarah William Preserve with 447 acres and 16.6 miles of multi-use trails, Sandy Pines Preserve with 563 acres of trails and fishing (18 minutes away), and Robertson Mill Pond for trails and seasonal kayaking (17 minutes away). For water activities, Neuse Adventures Canoe and Kayak Rentals is just 12 minutes away. River Farm offers a tranquil camping experience with the convenience of nearby Raleigh events, including the Walnut Creek Music Park, only 20 minutes away for concertgoers.

There is a open sided shelter if needed. River Farm offers grassy, mowed campsites ready for tents. Parking is available at the main entrance, and staff can assist with transporting gear to campsites using the farm truck if needed. Water is accessible from spigots located around the farm. There is a private gated entrance to the Greenway, which requires a code for access. Guests also have access to the farmhouse toilet through the utility room, which is secured with a code.

A Refreshing Camping Getaway!

I had a wonderful camping experience here! The location is surprisingly close to downtown, yet it feels like a peaceful escape far from the city buzz. The hosts have two friendly horses, which added a charming touch to the stay. One of the highlights was watching fireflies at night — truly magical! There are several designated camping spots to choose from, and they also allow access to the restroom in their home, which was very convenient. Right next to the site, there’s a scenic cycling and walking trail running along the Neuse River — perfect for a relaxing morning or evening stroll. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick nature escape without leaving the city area!

Host was very accommodating to my last minute trip plans! Had campsite illuminated with lights so I knew where to go. Greeted me in the morning and was very friendly. Will be staying here again next time I’m in the area!

Absolutely wonderful Stay! The host is an absolute joy. The property and horses are great ! We enjoy a wonderful convention with the host and she is so accommodating. We stayed here so we could enjoy a concert near by. There is so much to do within a short distance. Definitely will be back when we are in the area.

Emma was very quick to respond to my many questions. The directions were very clear, and I was given many options of where to set up camp when I arrived. I felt extremely safe and enjoyed waking up to the horses on the next pasture.

We were looking for a safe / quiet place to stay in our campervan for a few nights close to the Neuse River Trail. This spot was perfect! Trail access is directly on the property (no need to ride or walk on main roads to get there). Emma and co were super responsive to our questions, and it was so nice to wake up to see the horses each morning!

I arrived by bicycle from the Greenway. There is a gate to access the farm without having to ride on a busy road. Emma met me with firewood! Camped under a shelter which kept the dew off my tent & bike. Emma was genuine and hospitable. I will return and tell other cyclists.

Emma's farm is beautiful and peaceful! She is an excellent host and goes above and beyond to make sure her guests are comfortable and have everything they need. We would stay there again for sure!
