Free use of kayaks and a canoe on an undeveloped 18 acre lake is included when you camp here. Several miles of trails, dirt roads and streams wind through hundreds of acres which you are free to explore. The property has been owned by members of our family for 75 years or more with areas of it family-owned since the 1800's. A large portion of the property is dedicated to sustainable loblolly pine forests dating back to the 1980's. A significant area of the property is dedicated to native hardwood forest and has some of the oldest and largest white oak, poplar, elm and shortleaf pines in the upstate. The remainder of the property is pasture; home to Black Angus cattle. We look forward to sharing this unique property with you!

Riverside Retreat
97% (37)
Tent site · Sleeps 10
This site offers a one of a kind wilderness experience!  This is camping the way I personally enjoy it; Situated on over 300 acres of pine and hardwood forest, the property has over 1.5 miles of trails to explore by hiking or mountain biking and over one mile of creek frontage.  You may forget that you are in the Piedmont region as the beautiful rapids from two creeks and mountainous terrain with abundant mountain laurel will take your mind to the mountains.  This property is conveniently within 30 minutes of Greenville, Simpsonville and Anderson.  There is a large sandy bottomed portion of the creek adjacent to the camping area which is the perfect place to cool off on warm days.   I have participated with Hipcamp with several other listings for several years.  This particular camp site is brand new as of May 18, 2020 and there are limited reviews as a result.  Please see my other listings, Creekside Camp and Lakeside Camp in the Honea Path, South Carolina area and the reviews of those to get an idea of how our campers enjoy our wilderness experience.

Creekside Camp
100% (13)
Tent site · Sleeps 14
Campsite is beside a beautiful stream amidst old growth hardwood trees and Mountain Laurel (Blooms mid April though May). Fall asleep to the sound of water rolling through the rapids. Access to an 18 acre lake and use of a canoe and kayaks for fun and fishing is included. A guided tour with an educational discussion of forestry and animal husbandry practices can also be reserved. This camp site is primitive. Potable water is available within a reasonable distance. We hope to have a hot outdoor shower available in the near future.
