Weekend Trip to Redwood Paradise Camping

Such a peaceful and serene retreat. Spent a great weekend here with my boys and will definitely be back. Serves as a great base camp to explore nearby towns and travel to the beach. Also has enough amenities to just kick back on property and enjoy a relaxing day. Marshall and Tanya were amazing hosts!

Weekend Trip to Redwood Paradise Camping

We loved camping amongst the redwoods. The hosts were very welcoming and the morning coffee was an extra treat.

1 night at Delta Shores Resort & Marina

The site we stayed in was nice and quiet, under trees and near the bathrooms (as requested). The majority of people there were in much larger rigs with sewer set up - we just used shore power. Check in was quick and easy and the bathrooms were clean and well stocked. We only stayed one night and left early the next morning so didn't use much other facilities. The only thing I'd warn others of is how quickly the entrance came up - and it's very steep - so pay attention.

We loved our stay!! Very well equipped, bathrooms were great, and we ended up needing almost everything in the “everything you forgot” box. Host was very kind and easy to talk to, you just check in with him and then it feels like home! Definitely coming back, definitely recommend it.

Weekend Trip to BANKS RANCH IN THE REDWOODS

This is a super convenient place to get away from it all...but also be 15 min away from Davenport and their convenience store and shops (as well as the coastal beaches). There is lots of space and sun in the meadow spot, and we walked past the creek spot on our hike down to the beautiful creek. The creek was a great place to be able to walk to during the hottest part of the day. Choose the creek site if you really want to camp and just be away from everything (the drive to it would be a mini adventure). Choose the meadow if you want to get in and out easily. It also has some great trees for hanging your hammocks. The whole experience was peaceful and the perfect weekend of camping. Obviously you have to appreciate a camp in/camp out experience (including your own poo), but Doug and Denise made it as easy and convenient as they can. Highly recommend having or renting from them the propane pit during the summer no-burn months.

Beautiful spot, super private and well-kept. Option to buy firewood ahead of time. Also surplus wood available right outside camp in case you use more than expected. Porta potties were clean and well maintained. Site 3 was in the valley and it was a really cool experience to just look up at the forest climbing on either side. We came in a rented camper truck which was a little dicey on some of the dirt roads but still manageable. Would totally come here again and recommend to others. Esp bigger parties. Daniel was great too!

Weekend Trip to Estero San Antonio Wonderland

This place is so incredibly good that you don’t want other people to discover it. Each site is in the middle of overwhelming natural beauty and wildlife, the air is thick with birdsong and splashing of river otters, the land is lush grass, wildflowers and wild berry bushes. And the light moving across the surrounding hills is stunning. Thank you for making such a gorgeous spot!

2 nights at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

Sugarloaf is an amazing camping location. The camp hosts made it even better. They are kind, friendly, and very helpful. The set up was great. Morning sun and afternoon shade was ideal for late May.

Beautiful site, beautiful location, nice and secluded and the weather was really nice. only issue was that around 6pm we started getting harassed by a very bold skunk but that is no fault of the site. would recommend and will definitely be back.

2 nights at Estero San Antonio Wonderland

I loved spending two nights in the Blue Heron. It's such a cozy space that was perfect for a solo getaway. I enjoyed waking up surrounded by trees and bird song while having all the creature comforts of a comfy bed, a nice little kitchen for cooking, and lovely farm fresh eggs. Also, it's close to some of Marin and Sonoma counties most beautiful beaches and forests. Highly recommend!

1 night at Salmon Creek Ranch

This place was amazing!! Especially awesome was the fact that were the only campers on the redwood side, so it was silent the whole time. But even besides that, it’s such a beautiful hidden spot and the women there who helped us with check-in and such was so nice. The creek is also so beautiful. There is a large open field area but the three redwood campsites are secluded so your tent is hidden. I would come back here in a heartbeat and plan to in the future. The note on needing either 4WD or AWD is very true too…the road down to the campsite is steep and has deep ridges from winter rains so my 4wD got a workout!

We had such an amazing, peaceful, and memorable time here. It was the first time my girls went camping and they are hooked. It’s exactly what I wanted them to experience. Not a lot of people and just pure nature. The duck eggs were a nice addition and we were so close to Bodega Bay. We will definitely be back again and again!

We had a great stay! Our campsite was spacious enough for two tents for our family of five—with room to spare. It’s conveniently located near the restrooms and sink area, but still far enough away to feel private and peaceful. Zak was amazing—super attentive and on top of everything. Our kids especially loved visiting the horses and feeding the fish and turtle. We would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

Finley Camp is nestled along Finley Creek in West Sonoma County. Campsites are located in open flats surrounded by Coast Doug Fir, Alder, and California Bay forests. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit with cooking grate, and access to a porta potty and hand washing station. The campsites are located past the end of the county road allowing for a quiet peaceful experience. Enjoy a quiet stroll on site, the surrounding communities of Bodega, Bodega Bay, Valley Ford, and Tomales, or just enjoy a quiet day in camp. Our sites are located approximately 20 minutes from Bodega Bay. The campsites are 2.5 miles from the coast and the weather can be unpredictable. As a general rule, it is very similar to that of San Francisco. All camp sites are situated in a valley that offers protection from the coastal winds. The have both morning and evening shade. Sites #2, #6, #7, and #11 have the most space, while sites #4, #7, #8, #9 and #11 offer the most privacy. Sites 1-3, any combination of 5-7, and 12-13 are well suited for groups. Other site groupings work well depending on the number of sites being reserved. Site #8 is unique in that it has a wood deck/platform for tents. There are also NO wood fires allowed at site #8 as it is under the tree canopy. A propane firepit is provided for your use. You can bring a 5 gallon propane tank from home, or a full one is available for rent on site. We have beef available for purchase from calves raised exclusively on our ranch. This beef is 100% grass fed and finished and never given grain of any kind. We have various cuts available such as steaks, ground, roasts, ribs, or other various specialty cuts. All beef is cut and wrapped by a USDA certified butcher. It is raised in an organic manner from cows that freely roam on the pastures of the coastal hills we call home. Salmon Creek Ranch

Located within 45 minutes of the wine country and 2 miles from the coast, our property is 400 acres of rolling hills and redwood groves, with a creek running along its base. With miles of trails meandering through quiet woods and meadows, you will be able to revel in the tranquility of a private preserve, without sacrificing easy access to some of Sonoma County's most famous attractions. A hundred years ago, this land was used to graze sheep. Remnants of the old fence lines can still be seen in places, along with old cement troughs. Since then, the land has been left to its own devices, passing through many hands, most famously owned by two brothers in the 1980's who built a truly amazing tree house in the forest which has been featured in several magazine articles. It was revamped and updated in 2016 by a master craftsman, using fallen redwood logs found on the property and is now a unique structural work of art, available for overnight stays. We produce 100% grass fed, dry-aged beef on our certified organic pastures and have a store on site if you would like to purchase delicious steaks, ribs, ground beef for hamburgers or some roasts to take home. Our cattle graze on the native grasses, never grain, and drink only water produced from our own springs. We also raise Kiko meat goats and produce pastured, certified organic duck eggs on a commercial basis. Whether it's surfing at sandy beaches, award-winning clam chowder, a wine tour, horseback riding or a hot air balloon ride you're after, you won't have far to drive if you make our ranch your base camp. You may see a family of deer appear suddenly, or a few Scottish Highland cows which we allow to roam freely over the property. There are over twenty species of wild birds that grace this protected spot, so bring your binoculars! A portion of your fee goes towards protecting native flora and fauna as part of our private wildlife preservation program. A limited number of private, widely spaced camp spots are available for visitors. The Eagles' Nest Treehouse (mentioned above) is very isolated and you may or may not even be aware that there are other people within miles of you. There is not cooking allowed by or at any of the common areas, due to flies and critters. Cooking and eating is only allowed by your sites and not in any common areas: Hammocks, Trampolines, Pool Area, tables, sink, and deck please follow this rule because we want to prevent our shared areas to be fly and bug infested. We are still working on ridding the flies and cleaning. (please try to bring prepackaged food or something easy. If anything you can drive 10 minutes to nearby food and grocery). In the past we let people cook and eat around the pool but now our whole property is fly infested and I find scattered leftovers on the ground. Thanks for understanding. THERE IS A 1-2 MINUTE HIKE TO THE CAMPSITES 1-5! Poolside campsites are closer to the parking and are bigger. CHECK OUT OUR NEW LODGING: This property is my home that I live in with my 2 kids. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with one queen-size bed, two futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible.
