Kitchen: The communal kitchen has a refrigerator, sink, microwave, BBQ, coffee maker, dishwasher, stove, oven, and ice maker. The kitchen has A/C and heat. Other Shared Structures: The Lounge Barn, Legends Saloon, Loading Dock Stage, Antique Barns and the Game Room. Evenings: Evening time at Almond Springs is spectacular. There is no light pollution, and the stars are amazing! The space is also well lit with intimate café lighting. Weather: This is a remote country space. The Cabins and Kitchen both have Heat and A/C. In 1881 my family purchased this property. It's home to abundant wildlife, our cattle herd and minutes away from the Los Padres National Forest. The area has a rich history, of gold and silver mining and bank robbers. Jesse and Frank James lived at the nearby La Panza Ranch while nursing gunshot wounds. We are a short drive from Pozo Road, where you will find yourself nestled under an oak amongst the season's vegetation. Abundant wildlife in the camp area with pigs, coyotes and Tule elk residing in the mountains on the property. Seasonal birds, wildflowers and cattle grazing.  Hike, bike or just relax on the property and enjoy the star gazing that comes without the city lights. It's just a few minutes down the road to the Los Padres National Forrest but at least 45 minutes to the closest town. If you bring your dirt bikes or ATVs you'll need to enjoy them only while on the forest property. We enjoy our wildlife and work to protect it with rotational cattle grazing. The property has been in the family since 1881; remnants of past farming and livestock operations are ever-present. We look forward to your visit!

This was such a fun and truly unique camping experience at Wendee's Whimsical Camp Site. The hosts have transformed their property into a one-of-a-kind getaway with their outdoor creativity that will delight the young and young at heart. They've built an enchanting walking path, constructed two bridges, one being a full suspension bridge, fashioned stairways from fallen tree trunks, formed a quaint fire pit area with seats out of logs, and erected a full bath in its own little hut complete with toilet, sink, shower (with hot water) and hotel-quality towels. Take advantage of every inch of this place which is easy to do since you are the only ones there. Yes, this is a completely private camp site, and that's what we loved most about it. The hosts are so kind and provide so much to make your stay top notch including a gas grill, all the items to make S'Mores, a hammock in an oak tree grove, lanterns on the picnic table, flashlights, and even bandaids. We have a 1985 VW Westfalia camper and the road leading to the camp site (which the owners also had to carve out of their land) is a bit arduous with inclines and turns. We made it, but a car with tent camping would've been preferable and just as perfect of an overall experience. We highly praise William and Wendee for their foresight and passion in turning their parcel into a real gem for all the campers out there looking for an adventure like no other! Put this one on your list if you are planning a trip to the CA Central Coast

I had an unforgettable solo camping trip this weekend at the Redwood campsite. Tucked beneath towering redwood trees, the site felt like a peaceful sanctuary. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home on their beautiful land. The campsite itself was thoughtfully set up with a fire pit, a sturdy bench, and—best of all—a flushing latrine (a rare luxury when camping!). It was quiet, clean, and truly a perfect place to relax and recharge. One of the highlights was taking a walk up the creek to discover several hidden swimming holes. The whole trail felt magical and serene—absolutely worth exploring. I would 100% stay here again. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful nature escape with great hosts and beautiful surroundings.

Our group of 9 and a 1 year old had the best time at this campsite! There were beautiful spots to pick from all along the creek. Rob was super helpful getting us familiar with the grounds and even brought us some ripe loquats and avocados from the farm on site! Other campers were friendly and we loved seeing their dogs. There was an orchestra of frogs in the evening which was a treat. The flushing toilet and water hookup at our campsite felt like luxurious amenities, not to mention the forest bathtub experience. We also had a nice day trip to the lovely town of Cambria and hiked by the beach (beware of ticks!).

We loved camping at The Range in our tent trailer. We had a group of 9 people (5 kids and two dogs) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We felt like we were literally on top of the world with beautiful views all the way to Morro Bay. It was incredibly peaceful with no one else around and just a short drive to SLO. The kids loved the pigs (especially the little pink one that would run down the hill and greet us every time we drove by), the goats, and all the ranch dogs. We enjoys some fresh farm eggs one morning. It did get a little windy in the middle of the night with some heavy fog, so just come prepared for that. We will definitely come back again!!!

We really enjoyed Wendee and Williams camp site. The bathroom was well kept with great amenities. We loved the walking trail, fire pit, bridges, and all the other whimsical features at their site. Awesome camping spot! We were right by the river and our site had a swing for the kids and they could play where we could see them from camp! Highly recommend. Everyone who lives/works there was SO friendly and helpful. Definitely read the whole description on HipCamp, there is alot of junk around but we’re also farmers and totally get it. The campsites did not have any junk, but the property has some history and there are remnants of it all around. We love the area and will be back with our little fam!

We can accommodate tent campers or car campers. Each campsite fits 4-6 people. The price is $40/per person. Kids under 12 are free. Most campsites are accessible by car and all campsites are accessible by foot. PLEASE NOTE, we do not have a traditional check in procedure. Campsites are first come first serve. Expect a "self-check in process" most of the time. However, there are sometimes people working onsite that you may run into, that are happy to help and lead you in the right direction. You choose your own campsite so plan to arrive early. You can park and walk around. There is signage that says "CAMP" with Arrows. BYO water. We have sulfur spring water. Great for your skin, not good to drink! There's a couple outhouses on the property. One in the main camp zone, one at the far north end of the lower Redwood campsite. You can also bring a shovel and take a walk if you're in the more remote campsites. We have a dumpster outside the gate for your garbage. IMPORTANT INFO Please don't mind our farm junk/tools as you enterGate 1! We are slowly working on clean up and relocation of materials from the entry road and away from view. Before you arrive, have knowledge of poison oak because it is a native plant. The main photos in the listing are taken from Hipcamp Scouts back in 2018 and they are featuring our Original campsite. This is located past the mineral baths. It's the furthest one to reach, and accessible by foot. I will update photos to depict all the campsites, but please share your photos with us on Instagram and tag @charanspringsfarm to help future campers get a view of what the sites look like with a tent set up! SULFUR MINERAL BATHS Include in your experience the use of our sulfur mineral baths. It's $10 per person. PLEASE BOOK THIS AS AN EXTRA AT CHECKOUT. The mineral baths are 2 funky vintage clawfoot tubs that are pictured in the actual listing.The photos show an accurate description of the Mineral Baths. They are not located in the main camp zone. Please call ahead to book your time slot and get directions to the mineral baths. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF: You are looking for "Glamping," (Glamour Camping). It's primitive camping on a private property with bonuses like the garden, rustic baths, and beautiful nature. This property has been a working farm for decades, which has struggled with hard times. We neighbor Los Padres National Forest which has several miles of hiking and biking trails. On our farm we have 10 sheep, 10 goats, 22 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs and a cat. Interaction with farm animals is common place as most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)

You can also ride horses on the property as well as along Rocky Canyon Road into Atascadero or Creston. You can ride into Creston and can have lunch or dinner at one of the 2 places in the small town of Creston.

Peaceful and private RV camping under the oaks with picnic table, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. We currently have two sites on our property. They are about 300 feet apart and not easily visible from each other. Property is fully fenced; both sites are next to an open field under the oaks with vineyard, olive orchard and mountain views. This property is 30 miles from Paso Robles and almost perfectly centered between Missions San Antonio and San Miguel. Lakes San Antonio and Nacimiento are close by. Coastal towns of Cayucos and Morro Bay are about an hour scenic drive, passing many wineries along the way. There is space for multiple RVs or additional tents sharing your party's RV restroom facilities. Site one will accommodate sixteen people and multiple vehicles. Site two will accommodate ten people and two vehicles. For larger groups we ask that that you book both sites. We have hosted many family reunions and the feedback has been 100% positive. Highlands Ranch Hip Camp sites are located half way between Atascadero and Morro Bay. The weather at Highlands Ranch is more like the inland Atascadero side hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months. We have 4 terraced, no hook up, spots available all of which can accommodate 2 or 4 wheel drive camper vans, trucks or cars. One of the sites can be used for fifth wheel, small motorhome or multiple camper type vehicles and of course tents can be set up on all sites. Sites range from small to extra large, that are quaintly studded with oak trees and native greenery for a peaceful camp off the road. Also, from our sites available, there is only a 5 minute walk to the local, off the beaten path, restaurant called the Half Way Station (great food, beer/ wine, sweets and live music) open Thursday through Sunday, which you can find on Facebook or Instagram. You may also like, a drive, further west is the Morro Creek Ranch Country Store (Snacks, Oils, Avocados, and more), which you can find on Facebook as well and of course further west with tons of ocean fun is Morro Bay. Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

Megan was welcoming, patient (I asked her a number of questions) and responsive - even on Thanksgiving evening. The property is in a GREAT location so close to SLO, Montaña de Oro, Morro Bay, wineries and so much more. (The weather prevented us from experiencing that and so much more but it’s easy to build a great trip when staying at Megan’s place.) It was a unique experience and if you enjoy or interested in horses - this is a great spot to stay."
