Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

We really enjoyed this spot! We arrived late and it was nice that there were solar powered string lights there to assist us with setting up our camp. From looking at the turtles to fishing and swimming- we had an amazing time. The site itself was on a hill/ cliff so we hd a great view of the river and were able to keep our mermaid dog from disappearing into the river unattended. There is also a little swimming hole right below the site that you can acess with a steep little climb down. This site is very sandy just FYI so do prepare to plan for that during your trip. There was also plenty of privacy. We would definitely visit again.

My husband and I enjoyed tent camping on Tony and Belinda's land. The experience was memorable. Driving directions were clear and easy to follow. Tony and Belinda were great hosts. We would strongly recommend the camping site to others.

Our 2nd stay at Hidden Creek was just as beautiful as the first. The peaceful space, the pictures don’t do it justice. Melissa & Dennis are top notch hosts who care about their guests and even provide a small plot of Rosemary and Basil for those who love to cook! Excellent touch. Easy to find, great amenities for those who need. Just bring your camping gear and you’ll have fun!

Weekend Trip to Camp Moondog

Fern Gully was the PERFECT primitive site for my husband's and my getaway. The host was very protective of our privacy, the river running right in front of the campsite was so lovely, and the string lights added a beautiful ambiance! Not very far from the site was Greenville and a ton of places to eat, and about an hour from the site was a hike to the tallest waterfall in SC which has a suspension bridge that goes right over it. Overall, 10/10 experience, we recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from life for a bit!

From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and right at home. The hosts, Dennis and Melissa, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, from a warm greeting on arrival to helpful tips about the area and even checking in just to make sure I had everything I needed. It’s clear they both care deeply about the campground and the people who stay there. The site itself is beautifully maintained – quiet, clean, and surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect balance of rustic charm and thoughtful amenities. Whether you’re looking to unplug and unwind or explore the surrounding area, this little gem has you covered. 2 nights at Scotland Pond

I loved it! My dogs had a blast playing around the pond and in the woods. Between the frogs and all the birds there was constant music. The pond was full of fish jumping and turtles sunbathing. Natures medley was so relaxing! I did not want to leave and plan to enjoy Scotland pond again.

Great spot, I honestly felt like the pictures didn't do it justice. Very quiet and well situated. Location is good, near a nice farm stand with all kinds of year round goodies and treats. We got rained out but the host was very understanding and even offered to refund our rained out night. Would stay again.

This was a great site with lots of shade coverage from the trees and the river running next to it made for a wonderful camping spot. The site is very flat with lots of options for tent set up. Although close to civilization, this spot was quiet and peaceful.

Now we only stayed here for 1 night but this was definitely one of our favorites we have stayed at. There are two campsites here on the creek, but they are far enough away from each other that it is fine. Nice fire pit, picnic table, and swing for you to have a good time around.

Weekend Trip to Chattooga Belle Farm Lakeside

This was our first time camping with our kiddos ages 16, 6 & 4 and I was apprehensive about how it would go but we had an amazing time! There are plenty of campsite options near the lake which is what we choose since we brought kayaks. Our boys loved fishing, kayaking, and exploring the area. We only stayed one night but we look forward to coming back and staying a few nights. The views were incredible and the sounds of the crickets/frogs were so relaxing.

3 nights at Chattooga Belle Farm Lakeside

This was a beautiful place to camp! We met Ben, Brian, and Eric at the distillery! Brain shared with us some great hiking trails that we loved exploring! Eric and Ben were awesome as well! We arrived on a Thursday before a long weekend, which was a great move! It was very peaceful, with only a few other campers throughout the property! We had a chance to explore the orchard, walk the disc golf trail (which is expansive!) and even hike the trail that's on the property! Friday and (especially) Saturday were much more busy. Make sure you read the message from Kitty and the entirety of the camp description to know what to expect. Be sure to bring your own water and firewood!

Mike and Kelly were so friendly as well as their two cute dogs. (We only seen the dogs or heard them when we met) Though we were hoping we would see them adventuring too but didn’t. They had great communication our whole stay but gave us our privacy. Said if we needed anything to let them know. We did need one thing and Mike was very fast in bringing that down. Upon arriving we walked down to check it out. Parking is literally a 1 minute walk from the site as stated. They do have a steep hill to walk up and down but that was fine. You walk through the start of the path and you’re welcomed by this nice creek that leads to the huge river where your site is and has these cute little solar lights hanging at your tent area. They’re not bright but give off just enough light to not bother. ( don’t worry! You can turn them off if it’s unwanted) The site has plenty of room! There are lots of places to go adventuring and fishing. The camp site had a nice little honey hole for fishing and a huge rock to climb on that gives you a wonderful view of the river! We didn’t actually see any wild animals but did see prints. This site is nestled away from the city but is a 5 minute drive from a superstore if you had forgotten to bring anything. On a trip to the store they were picking blueberries and was so nice and offered some. Best ones I’ve ever had! Better than store bought! I highly recommend camp moondog to anyone who wants to get away. It was a very nice stay and will be coming back!

Our homestead is home to our family, chickens, and a livestock guardian dog. We also have a small orchard and a garden. Most of our 12+ acres are wooded and our property backs up to thousands of acres of public forest land owned by Clemson University. A trail connects our backyard to the main network of hiking/mountain biking trails in Clemson Forest. For those familiar with the forest, our property is in the vicinity of Wildcat Technical, Wounded Road, and Chainbreaker trails. As private and wooded as our property is, we are only 10-15 minutes from downtown Clemson and less than 10 minutes from the small towns of Central and Six Mile. The Lowcountry is great for water sports, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, sailing, hiking and canoeing. Each season offers an opportunity to participate in fishing, crabbing, shrimping or digging for oysters in local waters. Our area is a favorite of cyclist groups, the long, flat, rural, scenic, roads offer pleasant riding experiences for cyclist of all ability levels. There are bike lanes on many of the major roads. Other recreational activities in our area are geocaching, horseback riding, tennis, golf, hiking, beach volleyball, beachcombing, and birdwatching.
